Government hating cyberpunk, also FLOSS supporter and indie game lover.
A Linux version would be awesome!
I played the demo and imho this game has a too slow gameplay dynamic for me (walking, jumping, etc feels sluggish). Either that or I played too much Super Meat Boy. The graphics are beautiful though!
Oh come on people! How can you not "get it"? Didn't you play Battle City on the NES? It's a remake of that game.
The player(s) control 2 tanks on the bottom of the screen, the objective is to defend the base in the bottom middle of the screen, by destroying all enemy tanks in the level. Simple as that, there are also powerups around the level to help you.
It even has a page on Wikipedia: "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_City_(video_game)"
This could be fun :-).
Some people just don't understand scaling of a rating. They see only 2 options - 10 if they like something, and 1 if they don't.
You on the other hand should relax, going nuclear over some haters isn't going to help. Wait for more people to rate your game an you'll get reasonable ratings and reviews.
Whatever anybody thinks of this game, I got to hand it to the devs - they chose good screenshots to put up here (cyberpunk & postapo locations). I might just want to try this out ;-).
I hope the GNU/Linux version lands here also.
There is still a problem with launching under OpenSuse (64bit) from the Desura client.
Error message: Failed to create (full game name here) process. [2: /home/username/ rest/of/path/ending/in/Dysfunctional
It seems there is a problem with the space in the name.
It's in the groupees bundle.
The price seems average for a casual game. What's more interesting is that it's an exclusive GNU/Linux version! :-)
Finished the game for the first time, failed to guess who was the bad guy, though I thought I was sure. But I somehow didn't have nearly any scenes with him despite having the (what I thought was the) related stat over 2x more than the others... Gotta try again later.
I got a dx11 GPU, but I guess I can't play this, cause I only got windows xp (and no, I won't "just install win7" cause it costs money and even if I had the cash I'm not interested - my primary OS is GNU). Seriously please use an OpenGL renderer. It's worlds more compatible with everything (except xbox), and it would enable you to make a GNU/Linux port more easily :-).
It would be cool if you could put Junipers Knot on Desura too.
Here's to a new version of the client app! :-)
Try and see. Unity engine games usually run pretty good on medium detail settings and resolution on anything 2core + gf9600 or radeon 38xx.
Thanks for the info - I'll also skip this game. It's a pity when a great looking game gets content cut just because somebody is not comfortable with sex. Come on, it's the most natural thing there is! Just add an 18+ sticker to the game box and let the game be as the creators intended.
It's great to see Dischan games finally on Desura! :-)
The keys are there! :-)
I wish you had a Flattr button.
Thank you for the GNU version.
Looks awesome :-).
Thumbs up for the Linux version!
I'm really happy for the new Linux version :-)
So what is wrong with an M rating? Statistics say that the majority of people buying and playing computer games are adults. IMHO there should be even more M rated games. I don't know of any laws prohibiting selling M games anywhere in the world except Germany and Australia.
Not available in my region (EU-Poland) also :-(. Creating artificial boundaries in the internet is just plain wrong (because the internet is just a single whole region). A dollar has the same value regardless of where the buyer comes from.
I'm also hoping for a key from the Groupees bundle.
Ah well maybe it's for the better. We still got the original Sonar :-).
The Linux version is very outdated here - it's 2.3.1 (from 2010) :-/.
You shouldn't use vsync for benchmarking. As you can clearly see on the second graph, the results with vsync are useless.
I would be nice of you to acknowledge that 1€ does not equal 1$ :-(.
getch() doesn't work as 'press any key', it works as 'press the enter key' :-) here's the diff: 0bin.net
So tell me - this is basically Elastomania/XMoto with fancy graphics, right? :-)
Don't you think it's a bit of a fail to use the same promotional screenshots as when the game was first released? Come on, this game can run in fullhd and more & looks as sharp as a razors blade when doing it.
Both of the games mentioned in the article have notices about being not available on Desura - wtf?
So... How about a GNU/Linux version on Desura?
Wow, a blast from the past! If it isn't the lovable 'Miś Uszatek' from an old Polish children cartoon... Sniff... I feel old now ;-).
Having bought this on release on Steam not long ago I'm disappointed to see it so fast in a bundle. Anyway - go get it, this game is pure bliss! A bit short, but it's completely awesome!!!
Looks interesting, I have to try the demo.
One of the most fun adventure games I ever played.
Looks nice. Any chance for a GNU/Linux version?
I second that - put your other games on Desura too! Visual Novels - yeah :-).
You don't get it - there is no reason to limit digital distribution sales. 10$ is 10$ no matter from where it comes, be it China, USA, South Africa or Russia.
Another thing is I could buy this game on Steam right away, it is 'available in my region' there. Anyway - my point is - in the digital world there are no artificial regions.
What does 'not available in your region' mean??? My region is the internet :-P.
Have you fixed the bug forcing keyboard+mouse control for the 1st player? I'm unable to use a gamepad because of this. The gamepad is added for the 4th player when I try to use it :-(. (it's a Logitech F710 in xinput mode so it's basically an xbox gamepad)
You probably won't - this is an old game from the 90's. There were however other adventure games in similar spirit (I call them "illogical polish adventure games") released around that time, but I think they haven't been translated to English (the original language is Polish). Since I see you're from Czech, you might want to have a shot at some abandonware sites for titles like: Wacki, Skaut Kwatermaster, Sołtys, and other titles by companies L.K. Avalon and Seven Stars.
From more recent and still available games there's (not polish) Ben There, Dan That and its sequel Time, Gentlemen Please, which have similar amounts of abstract humor in them (available here on Desura).
Great to see another indie classical style jRPG.
So when's a new live dvd coming out?
Wow, feel the breeze of old ages ;-). Seriously though, I think the price is way too high for such an old game (20 years!). Something close to 1€ would be a lot more acceptable.
I just wish this game was available on Desura. I don't want to register an another account somewhere to buy 1 game.
OK, I watched the trailer and it seems the game is of the arena type shooters (feel free to proove me wrong), but the other 2 questions stand ;-).
Is this a scrolling shooter (vertical/horizontal), or an arena free flight (like asteroids) shooter? (not so easy to tell from the screenshots)
Is there going to be a demo available?
How about a Linux version? :-)
