Well, if I was leaving VII behind, I was thinking something completely different, actually...
Different Engine, Genre, Story, Concept, Gameplay, etc.
It's an idea I have been slowly developing for the past 3 or 4 years, conceptually, and I think it could be fun to play and create.

Well thank you. However, we're not trying to make it the original. This is the multiplayer version, so it has the basic concept of the Jenova chamber, but larger, and with some deviations.
As for easter eggs, there'll be plenty scattered throughout the singleplayer campaign. *Wink wink*
Well we're glad to hear it. As for the beta test, we were thinking the multiplayer could serve as that, since we'll be releasing that sooner than the first episode (hopefully). Also, in case I hadn't mentioned this before, we'll most likely be releasing the first mission as a public demo. That is still a ways away, but it's something, right?

Glad to hear! And yes, we will be following the story exactly. As for the RPG aspects, it depends on which you mean.. but yes- it will be an RPG. And with that, we can play around with the functionality of the game to find what is most fun or creative and new, while still keeping that feel of the original that we all love. There will be some new and interesting gameplay mechanics that we feel will make the gameplay stand out more than most Source mods... hopefully everyone will feel the same.
