Not sure if this is a known bug or not/if it's already been reported, but I was playing as the Darknuts, and at turn 125, the Stalfos event occurs which causes the game to crash. Based on previous interactions with other players, I think this is similar to the old turn 16 River Zora glitch that got patched (or at least I've never had that problem).

Can anyone confirm if they got this?

Also, does having a lot of soldiers strain the game to the point that it could crash? Because by around turn 50 I had conquered the world (Darknuts are strong...) and set the AI to manage my towns and they continued spitting out soldiers... That may have been too much for the game to handle all at once, by the time turn 125 rolled around? Any thoughts?

I figured out how to get Hyrule Total War to start on Steam.

This is what the address of my Hyrule mod folder looks like.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\Hyrule

Go into your Hyrule mod folder for Medieval 2 total war and find the files executable.bat and AUI.bat and right click on both of them and edit the code there. Change everything that says kingdoms.exe to medieval2.exe in both of those files and that should fix it.

You should be able to double-click on your edited executable.bat file and the game should run.

Make a copy of the files before you do this, because if you mess up, it will be almost impossible to fix without redownloading the whole thing.

Hopefully this works, as I'm not certain if I unknowingly did something else that also is necessary to run the game.

And where in my folders does this get saved to?

Whenever I download this, it just downloads a Install_Hyrule_Total_War.msi file and then I don't know where to go from that... I tried deleting the old folders of Hyrule that contained my old mod, but it still says v. 1.05 when I try to play it.

Where can I find the medieval2.exe file?

I was trying to download something else and it said it couldn't find my medieval2.exe file.

I've been having problems downloading the update. When I try to download, it says:

"The file 'flame_wheel.texture' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'disk1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."

Every time I try to download, it starts part of the download, but then that window pops up and then it starts rolling back the download. Any ideas on how to help with this?

Problem solved. For a reference in case anyone else has this problem, I went into my programsx86 folder and copied the steam and sega folders into the programs folder.

I just got a new problem. Hyrule Total War used to work fine for me (minus the few bugs already known), but now I can no longer get the window for Hyrule Total War to appear. I still can open the Kingdoms Launcher App and Hyrule Total War is there, but when I click on it the game does not start up.

Any ideas?

This happened right after a glitch that kicked me out of the game; a glitch that I think was caused when my Twilight Forces were attacked on the same turn that they teleported through the mirror. Don't know if these would be related or not.

So... I don't think the Shiekah are working right. If I understand correctly, Kakariko becomes a Shiekah territory upon switching to Death Stance, but that didn't happen. Also, is there a way to influence what units I train under Shadow Stance? It starts out as all spies, when I'd rather have the assassin groups. Finally, is there a way to recruit the actual spy or assassin that goes around spying on and assassinating targets?

Sorry bout all the questions. If there is a place that lists all this at, can you direct me to it? I don't want to nag the developers about a bug they already know about.

I think I may have a similar problem, but I can't even find my Hyrule folder in the first place... I know I've downloaded it.

Ok, thanks for the info... I got started with the tutorial you gave me, but at step 3 I cannot find the Hyrule Total War file... for some reason my computer is interpreting the mod as a .rar file... don't know if that's good or not.

I can still find the mod itself on my downloads list, and it is called HTWparts_1_2.rar and HTWparts_3_4.rar, but it does not show up in the browser of the Kingdoms Launcher App. Any ideas?

So I have downloaded the mod for Hyrule Total War parts 1 and 2, and parts 3 and 4, but I have no idea how to access them from Steam or from Medieval 2. Any ideas?

Also, in case you're wondering, I have the Medieval 2 Kingdoms expansion and I'm running Windows 8...
