Try lowering your graphics settings, the dominion are a pretty demanding race.
Try Running the game in compatibility mode.
You know what would have been amazing in this mod? The Yamato class for Feds
(of course it's like 50 years in the future from the dominion war and the Feds have a lot of ship types)
