I like the game Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines and appreciate people continuing to up date it.

When humanity drops to 0, you're supposed to lose control of your character in the pen & paper game. In the VTMB computer game, I've only seen it drop to 3. I doubt the computer game has it implemented that you lose control of your character.

WESP, thanks for continuing to update things. I have some questions on the update comments for 9.8 and 9.9.

"Lowered damage of both rifles and restored original stats to basic."
So high powered rifles no longer are as good? The Remington M24 SWS gets over 100 damage normally.

"Removed civilian Humanity losses"
Were these the humanity losses I mentioned of the civilian dying beneath Ground 0 and killing The Sweeper (vampire who first meets you in Hollywood and tells you to meet Isaac Abrams)? (Though it doesn't say masquerade violation fixed as it happens when nobody sees you killing The Sweeper in a dark alley.)

"Restored Vision of Death and Suicide damages and Aggravated Soak."
They used to do either 0 or 20 on supernaturals (other than thin-bloods). So they will actually do real damage on supernaturals now?

For the Gargoyle thing...

Options:
1. It seems one lives in the old theatre in Hollywood. I have some questions.
--Strauss says: What can I tell you about them?
Then you can ask all about gargoyles.

2. I hear that the Tremere clan knows a lot about them. Can you help me?
--Strauss sighs and looks down them he says: Yes I know something of Gargoyles, and of this Gargoyle in particular. I had hoped that he would meet his Final Death, but it seems my creation still lives to torment me.

(Hmm it always capitalizes them. Maybe it means Tremere-made ones rather than just ones made out of stone that aren't magical creatures.)

So Strauss is clearly responding to the text from 1 when he does 2. For 1 he also doesn't look all unhappy mentioning it and answers calmly when would be upset his creation got away to cause trouble. I wonder how long he made it as they're supposed to take a while to become independent.

However after Strauss says "What can I tell you about them?" in response to #1 there's
1. What is a Gargoyle?
2. How can I fight them?
3. Is there something special about this Gargoyle? Share your secrets with me.
4. Actually, can I ask you about something else?

Option 4 goes to the main dialog menu. Option 3 has him do the "Yes I know something of Gargoyles, and of this Gargoyle in particular..." line. Option 1 then open a new option this time 3, "Do you know who created this Gargoyle, Max?"

So the whole thing is out of whack. Strauss reacts to option #1 like you didn't find his run-away gargoyle and then you ask basically, "So your run-away gargoyle that I already mentioned, tell me some more about it" then he gets all unhappy. And then option 2 just asks general stuff and he somehow jumps to that you detected his runaway gargoyle and are asking about it and he (normally emotionless) gets all upset.

Well it's easy to fix the player's lines since they're text only.

1) You can't just edit each line of text and replace one with the other? I've seen spots where text is added and edited over the years. This really is an edit one text and edit the other text to change them. You said, "I can't swap the lines though because of the follow-up, but I added some info about one being in Hollywood." So you can simply edit the text?
2) I only fed on her either once or 0 times. It strangely just went away. Older games I played long ago, I could feed on her over and over, always through dialog.

4) It always gives the masquerade violation even when no NPCs are around. The only other option is that it considers rats the same as those NPCs as there's tons of those in alleys in Hollywood.
5) I was just making a comment on the previous game. All that constant Diablerie must have really messed Christof Romuald and the others with him up. Brujah don't normally get Auspex though so see that dark aura.

Oh and I forgot one...
8) In the Ground 0 i-cafe in Hollywood, I went in there and fought monsters every little bit to keep coming in and out to see when all the customers would mysteriously vanish and then I finally got to the cutscene where a monster eats a guy in a room and breaks the glass to attack me. Well when it ate the guy in the room, I got a humanity loss. So I reloaded the game, left the cafe, re-entered, and went back and it was fine.

This tiny form cut off my last part then it wouldn't let me post it for a while "to prevent spam".

Questions:
7) It would be nice if the mechanics of Blood Shield could be spelled out. What percentage does it absorb? I heard various claims and it seems to only absorb some and then send a lower amount to you that your soak then reduces more but not completely.

VTMB Bugs:
1) I was playing as Tremere (not tried this with other clans) and I asked Straus on Isaac's Gargoyle quest. "Gargoyles? Why are you asking about Gargoyles?" I'm not sure the second instance of gargoyles should be capitalized. But the real bug is after. There's two options. One is "It seems one lives in the old theatre in Hollywood. I have some questions." (Strangely British spelling of theater when it's in the USA.) The second option is, "I hear that the Tremere clan knows a lot about them. Can you help me?" Selecting the first option has Strauss respond like you asked the second. Selecting the second option has Strauss respond like you asked the first. Basically the texts are mixed up. The top option in the games dialogs normally gets the basic overview so the basic "I hear that the Tereme clan knows a lot about them" should be the top text. I have a saved game I can send you but I have no email address to send it.
2) Also I noticed as Tremere and having the Tremere haven, I did all Heather Poe's dialogs and told her to stay indoors. Then midway through Chinatown, I noticed the dialog asking her to give blood is gone. I can feed on her from the feed command which is supposed to be bugged but the dialog option is gone. The F button lets me feed on her but supposedly this can trigger glitches so it's best to use dialog.
3) For all clans you get the option to ask Heather for $20 just once, if you don't do it early on, it goes away forever.
4) The first vampire guy who goes up to you in Hollywood, it's supposed to be if you kill him you only get a Masquerade violation if you do it where humans see you. However if you're fast, you can run far into a back alley, such as the one right before Abrams Jewellry on the same side as that Jewellry store is. You go way in the back and there's nobody around who can see or hear you. Then despite nobody noticing, you get a Masquerade violation anyway. Now sometimes despite being far from everyone a cop TELEPORTS in which is unrealistic especially how in the game if you hide from the cops they quickly give up whereas in real life they get helicopters and infrared to track you down (though on COPS people don't go into the sewers), but even when the cop either doesn't appear or when I cast "sleep" or another stasis spell on the cop, still the Masquerade violation happens. No disciplines are used to kill him either.

Comments:
5) I noticed in comments somewhere burried there on your mod you mentioned that Diablerie was prevented hard-coded. Now interesting to note that in the game "Vampire The Masquerade - Redemption", basically the only way you survive through the endless vampires is constantly doing diablerie and then using the gained blood to blood-heal since in "Vampire The Masquerade - Redemption" you didn't auto-heal. That old game had a bunch of extra powers like a town portal ("Walk The Abyss") but celerity was worthless in it. But yeah the older game was doing tons and tons of Diablerie.
6) In the VTMB intro scene of the game, it shows Ash Rivers as one of the people standing up to protest the player character's execution but the player character makes no reference to it and the dialog forces you to threaten Ash's life. The player character should remember him from there.

I have more but this tiny form cut me off.
