It is a huge mistake and let down (to say it nicely) to not have mods on battlefield 3. I have been playing the battlefield frachise every sinse battlefield 1942 came out. i have bought every battlefield game (PC version) and dlc ever offered. After i bought and started playing bad company 2 and a few hours of game play, i realized that there was no prone and no open map single player, it made me sick to my stomach and i promply un-installed it from my computer and threw the cd into the closet and concidered it a waste of money and lesson learned.
Once i found out the battlefield 3 was not going to have an open map single player like all of the previous battlefield games, i was was on the fence about buying battlefield 3. I figured that the mod community would create and open map single player and then i would by it. Playing mods was one of the #1 best things about the previous battlefield versions of battlefield. If battfield 3 does not have open map singleplayer or the possobility of mods, i have no reason to give EA any more of my money and buy this game. I had a great time playing battlefield all these years E.A. I guess you wont be seeing any more of my money.
