Try changing the game type in the game setup. The demo gametype only works on maps with at least 4 players (with 2 enabled). The capture the flag gametype is the most developed, try that.

I was intending to make the Minbari have strong sensor cloaks in the game. At visual range the Minbari sensor cloak wouldn't do much so this should marry up nicely with the series. The Minbari are going to be an expensive race RU wise.
The video is quite old now, a lot of the ship movement has been altered. However one has to balance "reality" with gameplay. In reality the Omega could never even turn like it does in the series as the centrifuge of the turn would probably kill everyone on board!
Find your homeworld2 folder and look in bin/release for a file called hw2.log. It should report the error in there. I suspect you may be having a problem with the shaders the mod uses. They require a more powerful graphics card than the original ones in HW2. If this is the case you can at least try the mod by deleting the data/shaders folder. Certain models will not look right eg the planets but at least the game will be playable.
btw you don't need to copy the datasrc folder, that just contains source code for various parts of the mod and it not used by the game.
That's odd I've not encountered a problem with the Omega before, its one of the oldest ships in the mod. Could you describe what it is/is not doing on your machine?
Thanks for the compliments! :)
We've encountered this problem before, try updating your graphics card drivers and see if it continues. It seems to particularly trouble ATI cards. I have not found why it occurs.
It's available now from our development repository (assuming you don't mind rough edges and/or occasional breakage associated with development). See the project summary for the download instructions.
Yes, no problem you can use it.
Regarding level-link, I've added some info in the RelicNews forum thread. Basically, yes, that is the plan.
I've added a readme to the file. There is a discussion about these scripts on the RelicNews forums: Forums.relicnews.com
I've changed the SVN instructions link (in the summary section at the top of the page) to point to a backup copy of the instructions. If you have any trouble, post here and we'll see what we can do to help.
The vagyr and higaran races will be removed from the final mod so we are not balancing the B5 ships against them.
Yes, sorry about that. I'm currently renovating my new house which is taking a lot of my spare time. Hopefully things will pick up again in a month or so. I've got so much planned for the mod! :)
I still haven't managed to get the game to crash at all, so I'm not sure what is causing your issue with the mod. Could you have a look at your hw2.log file and tell me what it says?
Tekanako: Its a support ship. It acts as the building ship for the Earth Alliance fleet. Its lightly armed with only anti-fighter weapons.
The SVN version is our development version. Once we get the EA and Minbari races completed (models and balancing) we'll release version 1 as a self installing file and/or a Homeworld2 .BIG file.
Eventually I'll make a cut down set of shaders, but I'm leaving that until I've finished developing the advanced shaders. We will then offer two versions.
For now, if you delete the shader folder in the data directory the game will revert to using the original HW2 shaders. You should be able to play the game on your older machine then. It won't look quite as pretty and some things might look a bit odd.
They have been on the SVN for ages. I take it you have not noticed that you can change the game type in the multiplayer/skirmish setup screen. Click where it currently says "Deathmatch" and you'll be able to select the area capture game type. That is where the real fun is. Oddly wou are not the only person to have not noticed this, I think we need to write an FAQ or article about it.
We've been quietly busy. :)
hmm the sound quality on that video is a bit poor. TONV any idea why?
Please post the problem you are having on our forums.
No need, the mod files are on a public SVN server. Follow the instructions here: Thegamingunion.co.uk
Is anyone else having trouble accessing our website etc? I keep finding the forums are down.
When we get the mod to a state where we are happy to release it formally we will provide it as a much easier to install ".big" file. You'll be able to get it at our site and here.
That error is unrelated to the mod. Its HW2's disk security preventing you loading the game because it things you have a cd-rom emulator running. What version of windows are you using? I believe there are some issue running HW2 on Vista which can be fixed by setting it to emulate windows XP. I don't have Vista myself so I can't be more helpful, if that is the case.
A frigate design originally by AOG minatures. In the mod it's the Minbari equivalent to the EA Hyperion.
You can download the development version from our SVN server. The mod is most certainly not dead. We've just been through a bit of a quiet month or two as the mod team has been busy with real life. Things should pick up again soon as I'll have more spare time on my hands shortly.
The current explosions are just placeholders at the moment, they are just cut down versions of the original Homeworld 2 explosions. We'll make custom hit, damage and explosion effects once the main sections of the game are more complete.
Thanks!
Both Shadow and Vorlon ships are already present as bonus ships. If I can get the scripts to work, they will also be added as "monsters" which will guard an area of the map.
The Narns and Centauri should follow the completion of the EA and Minbari sides.
Its a Babylon 5 mod for the game Homeworld 2 by Relic Entertainment. The original game's graphics engine has been considerably improved through a rewrite of the main game shaders.
