You know I now played Chastity quest in just UP+ and first still got VV mad at me. I used a gun.
Then I killed her with a blade - went directly to her and closed the door too - the second one, which leads to the stage. And that worked fine for VV. So I assume it's some vanilla check with NPC's hearing stuff.. Gotta test TFN too.

Well I just wanted to explain my point of view about scholarship.
Actually in TFN I kinda can be good at anything, while you don't want to call it Bloodlines it's actually not that far from it still. Which even has a lot of books now (I never used selling books exploit in vanilla, and I think it was removed anyway in UP).

Oh, I just assumed it was your quest but it seems I was wrong - it's just some leftover. Nevertheless please change the item that you steal from KZ because it's confusing. And like I said it wasn't the quest from the Schrecknet chain at all per se.

Actually you know it seems lvl2 Obfuscate is already all you need. You didn't change it right? I now play Clan Quest Mod and while it says you can do stealth kills only on lvl3 - actually you can do them on lvl2. Without revealing yourself.
Damage bonus is stupid because why would I need it if it's a stealth KILL, and if the enemy isn't allowed to be stealth killed, then I still don't need a one time damage bonus, I fight normally then. That's just thoughts about "maybe you want to make Obfuscate more interesting".

I didn't need them because I didn't waste bullets on SWAT in the first place, and like I said Conflagration easily kills EVERY supernatural being, worst case is like 3 uses plus some swordswingin'. In case of Sheriff though AFAIR it took just one. Because it isn't a kill, it's just trigger for bat-form. The second phase is still easy too.

Well I noticed that at least with goons at astrolite house you sometimes can target them with disciplnes. And it seems for that you need to move the crosshair to the side. But I think I wasn't successful at all with Tong guys.
Hey, how about a universal idea like making a noise command to use with hotkey? I mean it would be too much to make it a discipline, but if it's just a noise.. So they would stand up alerted. I mean why can't I shout something for example, while still being in stealth? Or something like that.

Well I was talking about roleplay in general, and actually I think the game kinda assumes that there's some other Tremere in Downtown at least, because the Chantry isn't just a personal mansion for Strauss.

Also I forgot to mention that you didn't include the option to send Gimble to Vandal. Please do. It's in the UP for quite a long time already as I understand, I even learned about this not from guides or special VtM resources, but from a standard wiki, to my great surprise (list of characters page, about humans - Gimble).

I understand that in future versions you plan to tweak/change some clans too, but still want to say something about current version.
Main problem - original lore. It spoils your idea of using new clans with some custom content - because some of the clans end up with old disciplines without newly created ones.
Osebo, Ishtarri - all disciplines from vanilla. Even with custom presence bonus - boring.
Setite - two disciplines same as Baali. That lowers the replay value with this two clans. I like a lot the Ventrue female reskin here.
Assamite - actually quite good, but.. Baali are much better assassins. Sad but true. With Auspex Assamites are supposedly good ranged assassins, but all ranged combat in this game is noisy, even with xbows. Besides their unique discipline makes a poison for melee weapon still. But I'm not saying you should make them Warrior caste, it's too much Obfuscate users, yes.
Salubri - well, I like that clan a lot in terms of lore actually. Although as I know there are (almost) no normal Salubri in Final Nights setting, only Antitribu ones in Sabbat. Anyway, sadly their skill is not interesting at all, as you implemented it. Lvl1 - ahem, they already have Auspex. Lvl2 - seriously? Just bonus to frenzy check with blood cost and short timer? Why would I waste points on that anyway, like really WHY?
I didn't test Samedi, but I like Thanatosis description. Still, in terms of roleplay it's kinda hard for me to be a walking rotting chunk of dead meat. Nosferatu in comparison seem to be beauties now.

But that's what I told you - first I get rid of the peeping guys by hacking and lockpicking. Then I stealth kill hunters. Then I send away the stripper. Then I kill Chastity and get the "wiped out the team of hunters without loss of innocent life" message. Then VV is mad at me anyway. I replayed this right now from my first Vesuvius save, it's the same.

I understand about the experience, but like I said the museum with Beckett is pretty far in the game. In TFN you made the books available very early, so it's natural to want high Research faster. Therefore you want to level Scholarship faster because Persuasion is very important too. So without metagaming but with logical planning of character progression you'll almost never get museum Beckett bonus at all. See, I'm not questioning why early Bertram skill bonuses are that low - because they are indeed in the early game.

All I got was standard Schrecknet quest chain, but I'm talking about the server logs tape. See, there's this in vamputil.py :

if(container.HasItem("item_g_wireless_camera_2") and G.Gift_Email == 1 and G.Mitnick_Gift == 0):
container.RemoveItem("item_g_wireless_camera_2")
container.AddEntityToContainer("gift_reward")
G.Mitnick_Gift = 1

But there's no quest with G.Gift_Email at all! (no uses of this variable whatsoever except here) While item_g_wireless_camera_2 explicitly states that this is "Old Server Logs from the Kamikaze Zen. Mitnik really wants to get his claws into them." I get this item during "stealing part" in Kamikazi Zen.

Personally I think everything is powerhouse with Obfuscate lvl3. And of course I like it, for some reason I like clean kills almost wherever possible even without such restrictions.
By the way I ignored all your cool SWAT teams at the end almost completely again with Obfuscate. Sorry.
Oh and.. Can you SOMEHOW make that the sitting NPC's can be targeted with disciplines and stealth kills? It's driving me insane since the vanilla too. It's ridiculous. One of the obvious examples is the Tong guys in White Lotus.

Well that was an interesting lore bit, thanks. But I guess you still shouldn't cast too much Baali magic near the Tremere. Even without some kind of detection one can really become very suspicious of all those burning penthagrams. Or burning demon forms. Or maniacal laughter and Baal praising. Just sayin'.

Finished 1.3.1 playthrough now, liked it a lot.
Some notes:

Reinforcements for Chastity is not a bad idea itself, but 1) They're in the room for private stripper dances. Which is not "out of order". Or are they so well informed and appeared only recently, waiting for the protagonist? 2) With them VV is always angry at you that you weren't quiet with this murder. Even if you take out hunters first with silent kills unnoticed and then send the second stripper to the room and kill Chastity alone. Yes you get the xp message about killing without other victims. If you do not alert hunters at first, send the stripper to them (oh my), and then try to kill Chastity - hunters always hear that and so this option also fails as quiet for VV.

Lethal fists from Claw of Vukodlak can be buggy. For no reason they can disappear after loading the save (and they already erased normal fists, so no fists at all now). Adding them with console doesn't work while the Claw is still in inventory.

I suggest to increase maximum current Scholarship check in the museum with Beckett like Wesp did - so you can get lvl4 there and then lvl5 after Giovanni from him too. Because the museum is pretty late in the game, to be with lvl2 still is really lame. Anyway I did this edit myself, that's my preference.
Same for Romero Firearms bonus would be nice, again, like Wesp did.

When I use Obfuscate I sometimes (?) get the message about Serpentis 0. No bugs, just this.

Why didn't you implement Mitnick quest about the server logs from Kamikazi Zen? You even have the script check about this tape in the mailbox. I mean this should be just email from Mitnick, no dialogues and such, so no big deal to add it.

Your changes of the derivative stat system look logical, but you killed the major purpose of Auspex - vanilla Wits bonus to hacking. Let's be honest - auras are not that helpful, especially when they cost blood, and besides I think TFN is for experienced players who again don't need auras to be awesome. And Perception bonus is, well.. Yeah, it's cool to get bonus to guns. But TFN guns are cool already, so generally you need Auspex only if your Ranged<10 and you can't handle the shaky sniper scope mode.

I expected at least a Hacking Bank Account computer in Fu Syndicate. But it seems there are none in the whole Chinatown even (?). Disappointed.

"Pump Panel - Confusion" track in the Glaze club should be the first to play, period. I only noticed it because I returned two times to get the dropped weapons.
Nice addition!

I played Baali, that was total powerhouse. It's like Malkavian plus Tremere, with low to none blood costs. Well yeah, no magic dialogue, but I had a lot of Persuasion anyway. So about the skills:
`Concordance` - I like it, it's cool looking and all the ideas of it are nice. But it almost has no purpose, because of..
`Conflagration` - yep. Costs 1 blood. Does big damage to supernatural creatures, all of them, including even the Magilla Gorilla©. That would be not so bad because it has cooldown - but during that cooldown the target is totally helpless. Because "burning". So I can hit it with weapon of choice all this time. Then again cast the skill and continue hitting. You don't even need a lot of blood for it, usually 2-3 only, if you use your attacks too of course.
`Infernal Servitor` - well if I didn't have the Obfuscate.. but oh my, I do! What a lucky night to be dead. So yeah, feeding or stealth kills, or guns are much nicer against humans, and Conflagration takes care of the supernatural stuff.
`Rest of the Wicked` - holy @#$%. It costs no blood. NO BLOOD. Praise Baal! Well yeah, doesn't work on vampire hunters, but who cares, they're just humans and not encountered very often.
`Blood of the Sinner` - I think it doesn't work on the above mentioned stripper in Sin Bin. What, not enough sin?

And I generally liked the idea about the Baali book and blending into Tremere society. But.. wouldn't they notice though? I'm not a White Wolf settings expert at all, but Tremere blood magic is very special and exclusive. So a) Any Tremere and only Tremere should be able to cast some of it b) Other Tremere should notice that what you cast is NOT their magic at all.
I "roleplayed in the head" that after the game events and the Camarilla-Strauss ending I told Strauss about my origin and since I already proved to be loyal and veeery useful to him - I make the deal with him to cover my origin from other Tremere, including his superiors.
And anyway he knows what happens to those who choose to become my enemies.
