Wow. The audio is amazing. This may sound odd, but it first came to me like a Zelda - Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask - piece. It reminds me of the more solemn tones of the Temple of Time, Shadow Temple or Moon-is-coming-end-is-nigh. Then, I let myself visualize the Zone and specifically the events of Clear Sky, being human on human conflict before the explosion.
It evokes images of the smoldering plot of a skirmish or battle, now contemplated by a lone stalker or murder of crows. Its a dirty, metallic chorus of sorrowful voices - perhaps the last calls of the departing dead. Something sinister dances at the edge of aural perception, but the lamentations are like a siren's song pulling closer to the heart of the Zone.
It gives one's ears that sweaty, mud-caked haze STALKER is brilliant for coating the rest of one's senses with.
