The invisible marines and dreads for chaos are both upgrades for chaos marines. Its quite annoying, but counterable. I also agree with the ai going all out or just quitting. If you are winning against them (most) of the time they will go out without a fight. Its the same with ai allies, if you do that kind of stuff. Sometimes a game can end very ealry because of them, and other times you are hauling their ***** because they decided to give out on you.

I do agree with the ai difficulty curve, easy makes the ai dumber than a box of rocks and standard you might as well be playing insane (my usual difficulty to better understand the way the ai plays) but my difficulty with them comes in a different way. For example. I can NEVER have infiltrated units on the field because the ai instantly see and react to any infiltrated units i make, usually spamming some low cooldown global to take them out as quickly as possible. (Ex. Warp portals chaos daemons. No cooldown and spammable anywhere on the map. Makes my units impossible to form up correctly and destroys morale.)

YES, the AI speed cheat when under heavy fire and want to reduce casualties. This is unacceptable and those units are immediately put on my “death by artillery” list.

The Hellsmith is anAMAZING repair unit, as it benefits from the heretics’ “work harder!” ability that massively improves repair and build rates, but drains hp. This makes the vehicle that hellsmith is repairing almost invincible! Take out hellsmith first to resolve that problem. I would recommend commander assassin units and missiles launched at hellsmith to stagger his repairs.

The ai know how to exploit some of the unbalanced parts of this game pretty well, such as putting their units right in front of a titan so it cant attack them. Also the ai on your side will most likely hinder you as they are designed to be dumber than your ai enemies, so dont have them unless you have a plan or are looking to handicap the enemy.

I personally hate fighting against dark eldar, as their damage is pretty high and they like to attack early with their overpowered ranged jumping units and commander killers. Easy way to counter them is by beating them at their own game, as their units dont survive more than 2 seconds under heavy fire.

Too bad its nothing more than a meat shield when enemies can just plop their units right next to it so it cant fire...REMOVE TITAN MINIMUM RANGE :)

If you play against ai, walls are great distractions, they usually target your walls instead of your turrets/important buildings. Also walls are great at obstructing enemy movement.

The eldar still aren't fixed when i installed the eldar fix file. Yes, I put the UA folder in my main soulstorm folder. Also tried re installing it and still no result.

The first is called The Karuvan Campaign mod, allows campaign with UA. Available at the UA Discord. The second is called Survival: The art of Defence. The KC mod i simply did as it told me- extract the files to the UA folder, yes when overwrite. The Survival mod on the other hand i used the mod manager to merge UA and the mod together, and i can unmerge at any time.

I've been having stability issues on this mod. I do run it with 2 other mods (A tower defense mod and the karuva campaign mod), but when i run it on the campaign or the tower defense maps it runs fine with no issues. However, if I play it on a normal map, it will usually crash after just eleven minutes of playtime! I'm not sure if it's the mods I have on or just my luck, but the mods are the only ones that actually run fine. Any suggestions?

Also congrats on being 2nd place in modDB mod of the year!! I have been playing your mod for over 2 years now and really appreciate the work you put into this mod.

Good update, but crashes are becoming painfully frequent. The only modificationsI have are the survival mod and a couple of maps. And yes I do have LAA. Any suggestions?
Edit: I'm downloading 1.88.71 right now. Seeing if it fixes the issue.

This mod works almost perfectly with UA. I would go as far as saying make sure to grab this mod along with UA, as the AI progressively gets tougher at an almost perfect pace, even for UA. The AI knows how to use tougher units to their advantage (including titans), and is compatible with the 3 other races added in UA (Chaos Demons, Tyranids, Inquisition.) The mod also keeps you on your toes, such as spawning suicide units in between waves, and gives you just enough prep time to bolster your defenses. I played a round of this mod (Imperial Guard vs. Tyranids), and by the end, I had killed a couple of uberfexes, a trygon and a handful of hive tyrants, along with a juicy 2700 total kills. I played on standard difficulty with heroic defense mode enabled.

Assault Renegade Fortress- A map mod for dawn of war 1

Borderline impossible, in both the base game and ultimate apocalypse. Don’t bother trying this on the base game, because you units will get annihilated by earthshaker Fire, pelted to death by the non stop spawn rate of imperial guard, and the non stop re building of the tech priests from their unlimited resource pool. Ultimate Apocalypse WOULD have been an easy solution to this disgusting map, but the constant re spawning and the infinite sight range of earthshaker cannons makes it impossible to build anything beyond your starting base and even with titans, they won’t be able to hold off the re spawned units and eventually one will sneak by your titan and re capture your previously captured point. Which, by the way, capturing points is the ONLY WAY that builders and units will stop respawning and rebuilding, and trust me, they will do ANYTHING to re capture that point. So you were thinking, “oh, so just use an end game superweapon!” Well guess what? Apperantly this guy knew people were going to use Ultimate Apocalypse to try and beat his Un winnable map, so he made no critical locations on the map what so ever. I really don’t care that this is this guys first map, this is the bottom of the trash when it comes to scripted maps.
