I'm scripter, leader and leveldesginer of several Gothic 2 modifications and actually studying computer science to learn some skills to develop an own engine for our next game.
It depends on how many teams will use the feature and how many people help to translate. But I try to focus it for my own releases.
Yes, the feature is currently in beta and will be completed with the next update.
The problem acutally is that I don't have time to search for German actors and the support of other people to help me with that is also not that big.
And before I even could start looking for English voice actors I need an English translation, but that's actually prepared and translation will start in around two weeks if everything works out as I hope. Then I just need some people that help to translate the around 50.000 texts.
I hope we can provide them asap. I actually work on a translation tool integrated in Spine (new mod manager for Gothic 1 and 2 with many additional features) to make translations much easier (also for other modifications). Beta for this will go live in the next days and I hope I can find some people helping on the translations :)
No, we had no informations about this. The first time I heard about this addon was around 2011 or 2012. Long time after we started our work :)
But the sequel sounds very interesting and there actually are two mods in work going to tell the story. There is also the German modification Nyx.
For the German version we are working on it right now ;)
New compared to Gothic II. But as we work on this mod for more than 12 years now, "new" can be a while ago :)

Thanks. It's super hard to do such stuff in Gothic :D Took me hours for the complete distance :)
We use old worlds from Gothic 1 and 2 with modifications and new objects and also many completely new worlds.
We don't use improvements made by L'Hiver or Returing as it would be too much effort to merge their changes with ours.
Most people thought so, but I always said that we will release one day :)

I don't know any translation tutorials. But I'll write a tool soon to make translations much easier, both for automated translations via Google and manual translations.
English translation via Google will come.
Release will be the December 24, 2017. At least for the German version and in case no big issue will appear during the new test. For an English version I thought about a translation via Google Translate. Of course a manual translation would be much better, but it's too much work.

Actually I'm waiting for the new version of MiniMod Balance by Tricky. But when it is finished I'll start to implement it.
May be I'll translate the next release containing some new quests, bugfixes and the MiniMod Balance of Tricky, which has several new features and changes in balancing.
We plan to release next year, but the English translation may take a bit longer.
Nice work, seems to become a really good game. Do you know whether there will be a German version too? I would enjoy to play it :)
