Hello dear S.T.A.L.K.E.R. community,

I'm currently trying to do some handmade translations. Here is a small list of the mods I am currently translating:

"Darkest Time eXented" for ShoC - 90% finished
"New Time" for ShoC - 5% finished
"White Squad" for CoP 90% finished
The Zaurus Trilogy (Apocalipsis, DIES IRAE, Philosophy of War) for ShoC 40% finished
"Good life contract" for CoP 50% finished
"Bad life contract: Butterfly effect" for CoP 90% finished

Some mods have already received a machine translation and you can already play them without major problems. But it's my goal to better explain the background stories and to remove meaningless text passages and replace them with reasonable ones. You can't translate everything literally, most of it should be context-related. I will now finish translating the above mentioned mods and then see which ones I will edit in the future. I can think of some really good russian mods, which have only been translated by machine so far. I will probably revise them.

You have to know that neither English nor Russian is my native language. My English is ok, I guess. But I have only rudimentary knowledge of the Russian language. I can read it and I know a few hundred words. But I can hardly speak and write it. It is sometimes very difficult to translate, because there are often different word endings, which sometimes result in different words with a new meaning in my language. I decided to translate mainly from russian to english, because there are only a few german S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fans and it is more difficult to translate in german than into english, because of all the mutated vowels (umlauts) have to be inserted into xml-data in a relatively complex way.That's not worth the effort at the moment. But if someone wants to have a certain mod translated into german, he can leave me a private message or a comment and I will have a look at it.

I think I'll upload the first translations in 2-3 weeks. Some are almost finished, but I want to replay them to make sure there are no conflicts in the files and the story.

That's it from me for now. I thank all the modders and translators out there from the bottom of my heart. I love the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games and am grateful to all of you who help to keep the franchise alive before S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (2021 or 2030, who knows?) comes out.
