Agreed, I saw it today and it was beyond epic.
Though I was annoyed by the fact they retreated to often and were saved by someone or something each time they were almost captured or killed.

Yeah, felt like they had too many "get out of jail" cards.
Still a fantastic movie though.
Well if you think about it:
Book "get out of jail": Trolls, Goblins in Misty Mountains, Wargs, more goblins
Movie "get out of jail": Trolls, goblins before Rivendell, goblins in Misty Mountains, wargs, more goblins.
Except for the scene before they enter Rivendell, it exactly follows the book up until the movie ends. Obviously there was more stuff later on :P
