haha, once when i was camping up near lake shasta i was laying on the top of the boat in an arm of the lake around 2am and saw one of the things on the left floating around. It is called St. Elmo's Fire or ball lightning and it often seen before or after large electrical disturbances like sand blasting metal (causes static electricity), thunder storms, or hurricanes.
