Our update server is currently getting hammered with a lot of connections and our patch has not yet been approved on Desura. If you are experiencing troubles with the updater there is also another way to download the game. On this page underneath the purple Darkout image there is a tab that says "Connect". If you go there and hit the Connect button it will send you an email to the address linked with Desura detailing credentials of a generated account. With this you can log into our website at Darkoutonline.com and under the downloads section you will find the newest v1.0.5.0 exe installer.

Not sure, we had uploaded a 1.0.2 full installer a few days ago and apparently it was unable to be mirrored afterwards. I've uploaded a new one so we're just waiting on the approval now.

If anyone is having issues with the Darkout Updater closing itself and not launching, download this file and put it into your \Program Files (x86)\Desura\Common\darkout folder and the issue should be fixed. Sorry for any inconvenience! We are currently packaging a new installer that will correct this issue for anyone that is reinstalling or purchasing the game.

After first install you should press the Update button on the launcher to grab the needed files. That should fix your problem :)

Have you tried going to the Connect tab above and hitting the Connect button? That should set you up and send an email detailing your account information.

Have you tried updating the game at least once? Also, what operating system?

When you start a new character and world there will be a pod crash. If you right click on the pod near the fire you can loot some tools and resources into your inventory. You can also salvage the pod for more resources after you have the tools.
