I'm actually taking time to review this wondrous mod, so just this by itself should tell you how I feel about it.
To start off, lets look at the size and time of this monster of a mod. Unpacked and ready for use, this colossal achievement is pretty much the biggest mod I've ever played. Three, close to four Gigabytes. And each and every little bit worth it!
Z and his team, I'm gonna call them 'Team Awesome' (cause they are), have worked what? Three years? Four? To bring us this marvel in a polished, bug-free form (instead of releasing something put together in a month and re-patching it every two weeks) and ensure maximum enjoyability and total fun. And it's not like they had it easy, there were times when even hard fans and long-term watchers called Z a liar and pronounced RaW for a hoax. There were times when morale was low and Z's PM box full of the virtual equivalent of flaming bags of poo... Yet, unlike most people, Z hung in there and continued work on this masterpiece, no less valiantly than Da Vinci did continue his experiments into manned flight. Yes, I just compared Z to Da Vinci, who is, by far, my favorite artist/genius in history. And why not? From whichever angle you look at this mod, you will not be disappointed.
What Team Awesome have done with the graphics is beyond compare to the vanilla EAW or FoC. I was actually surprised the engine can host those models (and I still am). Any better and you'll be able to see Grievous coughing on the bridge of the Malevolence...
As for gameplay- here is where you really will enjoy this mod. I would recommend a thorough read of the manual before you even start downloading as many may find this game too different, or even too challenging. The AI will now gut you and eat your heart should the opportunity present itself, even on Easy. The two factions are well balanced (though CIS may come across as a bit over-the-top) and the game is always fun and challenging. Even if you're a rookie player or a seasoned veteran.
