I didn't even realise an alternate Vintorez existed! Will have to take a look. You don't mean the VSK, do you?
There's a stash in Pripyat containing said weapon. :D
I had the same problem, but then I got lucky. Instead of finishing talking to him to fast travel back to base, I hit escape which seemed to work. It's worth one try, at least.
No, that's the best you can hope for. At least it's better than the rather poor western scopes, the ACOG and SUSAT aren't very well implemented unfortunately, and are only 2x and 4x respectively.
Yeah, but before the current build. Both he and his dog were missing, I presume killed by bandits, as I've seen them frequent the area before. Fortunately it doesn't seem to affect the story; you can navigate the burnt farmstead/access the plateau without him, though if you want to acquire the compass I think you're screwed.
I can't seem to find the complete (spoiler) Arsenal list. Is it not out yet? I was sure that it was. Also, will the removed Alun's mosin ever be re-introduced? I never got a chance to try it out in the earlier build.
+1 vote for this.
Enjoying my current (new) 2.1 beta playthrough.
There are a few issues which I noticed in the last build which are still prevalent;
• When confronting tremor, his gun on suicide doesn't fire (it clicks) and
• The stalker's body is still missing from the table.
• Many of the new items contain spelling, grammar, or descriptive mistakes (for example, baked beans are not kidney beans, "although" is misspelled as "althou" etc.
• The military medkit heals the same as the basic one. Is this intentional?
• several of the scopes are not properly aligned.
• The PU scope has it's (correct) 3.5x zoom in the description, but 2x in the bullet point at the bottom. Not sure what the actual in-game zoom is.
I can add more as I remember/encounter if anyone is interested, just trying to help, not criticize. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the reply. Apparently there is a customised mosin nagant somewhere in the zone, I'll settle for that.
Could someone let me know the button for the quick release system? Also, the tech trees for some of the old-school style weapons suggest there are more modern versions available. Specifically, I'm looking to use modern (or fully upgradable) versions of the karabiner 98k, Gewehr '43, Mosin nagant, and ruger gp100 revolver. Which of these exist, in game?
I signed in to ask the same question. It seems likely, as it's the only gun I've seen to use the .357 round, though I'm happy enough using the basic model at the moment, it's an absolute beast (Though has a much lower zoom, and is quite inaccurate.)
If you buy the sks (modern) from owl, it should work without problems. It has slightly more accuracy than the stock model, too.
There is a quickfix patch for this.
Yes, I'm having this problem too. Damn.
Thanks for letting me know. Keep up the good work, and you'll be proud to know I've had no crashes yet.
In addition to what he said, if you save game then reload, even when standing directly in front of owl, it will reset his inventory.
Uh, so what was the new "feature" added to the game, anyone?
Good point, this is what I was hoping also.
Not a bad idea. I downloaded half of it before I thought to myself "hang on a minute..."
I noticed that too. Also, don't know whether it's just mine, but the + and - buttons for the karma points are both the same as the "reply to comment" arrow button.
This is starting to get awkward. It's nearly 10pm here in jolly old England, and there is not even an announcement of a delay for the upcoming patch. I was hoping to fire up a new game tonight, but it looks like it's not going to happen, getting pretty sleepy. Hope you guys are nearly ready, really would like to see what the new feature added is going to be!
Hmmm ok. well it's 7:05pm GMT here. Getting restless..
am or pm? and using which country's time?
I don't remember that one. Gonna have to have another listen.
Gah, I give up. Was having a great time playing, and was doing really well, but it the CTD's are getting far too frequent, and different things keep apparently causing it. Guess I'll have to wait for the patch, hopefully it helps.
Beard buys the badly damaged weapons off you, but at a worse price exchange than owl.
The basic tools for the sniper playthrough are in the room where you interrupt the weapons deal, up the cat ladder and along the pipes (I think)
Thanks mate. Seems to have improved somewhat, but I'm still getting a couple. Will play about to see if I can improve.
Cheers mate. Gonna try that out now.
