In my opinion we can see ice age as terrible disaster which slowly consumes entire earth as it is shown in Yellow knife's map info. Since it was very last place which contained supplies essential for titans and sooner or later it was completely burred under thick layer of ice and snow... we can observe the end of war without winning sides. World felt into darkness and few surviving and isolated refugee camps in south. Pretty much dystopian end.
But the Yellow knife, just like many others, isn't canon. And the progress of the EU forces in the Northern Strike leaves a very open ending, that's when the PAC's survival begun as they were slowly pushed back to the frozen wasteland of the north.
I find the universe and setting of 2142 really stands out for me, it's a really interesting scenario. I was talking to Frosty the other day about how I'd actually love the next Battlefield game to be 2143. I think it would play, look and sound amazing in Frostbite engine. They could do a really interesting campaign from the perspective of both the PAC and the EU, and dynamic weather like snow storms could be a cool feature as well. But seeing as DICE/EA does Battlefront as well now, I highly doubt they would go in this direction again sadly.
This is very interesting info, the 2142 settings gameplay very atmospheric like BF2 to!
But, as i know, EA\Dice don't do enything like BF2\BF21242 in near future, at least they won't be releasing any part of series in approx 5 years, so franchise stuck right now.
How come they won't? D:
I guess they developing something totaly new, and they need more time to work with a deadlines\mistakes, and release content without bug's like in BF3\BF4.
They're supposed to announce the next BF game in the first half of the next year and there's still a hope that it'll be 2143. Please, don't take my illusions from me... xD
Maybe, they want more and more money, only this thing matter for them)))
