This is a very basic and easy-to-follow tutorial to provide you with necessary knowledge related to BF2142 mods installation and launching. It also can be applied to BF2 as well. Before you start, it’s highly recommended to have your BF2142 patched to 1.51 patch (you can find this out easily since maps “Molokai” and “Yellow Knife” come with this patch and you will have them somewhere on your map list.

The most common direction where humans often tend install BF2142 is usually located at:

C:\Games\Battlefield 2142\mods

This place is pretty much sacred as it contains all the files of our beloved legendary BF2142. In the image at the top you can see \mods direction with some mods already in it. That’s how it should look like in order to work properly. You will always have folder named bf2142 in here since it’s the base game and mods often use its contents to save resources.

Now just drag mods into mods folder! (Gif below shows it)

Navigate to folder where your BF2142.exe is and follow those steps.

BF2142.exe ⮕ Create shortcut

Now you can drag the shortcut wherever you want. You can put it on desktop or (if use windows 10 OS) pin to the start menu. Editing the shortcut is easy. Right click on it and you will see view like this:

Step two: we’ll be modifying Target line. At this example I’m planning to set up a shortcut for Project Remaster patched to v1.2.

What you must know:

• +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1 is used to start any mod in full screen and increases stability so game won’t crash at menu startup. This part of code is highly recommended.
• C:\Games\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe make sure it is linked to right direction where bf2142.exe is located. Let’s say if you move your BF2142 and mods on ofher driver you either can create new shortcut or modifty its part where it shows location of exe. At this case don’t forget to edit “Start in” line as well!
• +szx 1920 +szy 1080 totally controls resolution. Here you can set any resolution supported by your monitor.
• +modPath mods/Project_Remaster1.2 this line is responsible for starting a mod. It works pretty much the same as launching a mod via custom games in 2142 menu but it just skips the whole thing and starts the mod immediately. Stuff which goes after mods/ is a folder name of the mod. So if you want to start any mod, just navigate to your BF2142/mods and copy-paste the name of the mod in this line.
  
  Let’s say you’ve downloaded a FirstStrike mod. According to my downloaded version, the mod path will look like this: +modPath mods/FirstStrike_1_61022

Now you are good to go and ready to enhance your BF2142 experience.

Hey, I know that not many of you are die hard literature lovers but still I want to share one of my completed short stories that scored hella well in university class. Some mistakes might still be here so beware. This story is humorous and entertaining even though it is dark. Have fun while reading :)))

Tonny Hillman realized that his mind had wandered somewhere else once again. But the public didn’t dared to bring him back into reality at all. Now he wasn’t worried about the audience but about the time limitations and he heard his watch ticking in the silence. For a moment he even forgot where he had stopped and there was so much left to be said! “You mentioned that this particular, eye-opening story is drawn on a real life event. Please tell us more about it”, the woman who was on the stage kindly insisted. She looked angelic in those bright lights and in the background of poorly-lit audience which became nothing but the heart of the midnight. They all wanted him to speak. “To be honest, there’s really nothing much to tell about it. In my novel, even though it is mainly fiction based, there’s one big part which is fully based on reality”. “We are all ears”, said the woman. “In late 90s, I found myself in Pančevo as I was traveling to Belgrade. The snow was falling and it was getting ‘bit dark. At that time I was nothing but a young punk, full of energy and looking for moody inspiration in this little city. I remember myself walking around a local train station on a bridge and observing trains moving below me. Right now I have little idea why I went there, I mean in that particular place. My poetry was doing pretty badly and I just couldn’t write or think of something decently poetic at all. But when I stared into the far distance…”

“There was a man lying on the railroad”. “Exactly. I recall myself shouting and calling him names to get him away from there but he paid little attention to me. Thanks to Lord there was no train coming!” “And then you went down to him” “Yes. And shortly after I find out him to be a quite interesting and intelligent person. He looked like homeless beggar from the appearance but he wasn’t the one. He also was stubborn. Stubborn as hell. Before we got into a good conversation he protested that we should put ourselves into an equal situation: so either I shall lay on the railroad next to him or we should sit on a bench otherwise he won’t speak to me. But I got him to sit on bench and we started speaking like equals with each other”. “Readers claim that it’s the most humorous part of the story even though it is miserably sad. Could you please give us some more insights how this part of the story is related to the name of the novel “The Black Sheep””?

“Of course I do. I was about to tell it. The man whom I presumably saved from a gruesome death was named Austin or at least he called himself like that. He shown me no documents or anything to prove it. But I did believed in him as much as in his life story. He started telling me that he always was a black sheep in his family. He was the first-born child and had three brothers. Even though Austin was the oldest, he was the unluckiest one: born colour-blind and speaking with a lisp; quickly become a target of bullies since very young age. His mother told him that she never loved him and she’ll never will; she had better got rid of him upon his birth and father used to physically abuse him unlike his other brothers. But he wasn’t a weakling and overcome his own limitations through hard work. He kept going and did well in his studies, job and had a decent steady income though he was isolated and lonely throughout his life and trusted almost nobody. But since he was craving for knowledge and improvements of his mind-set, he overcame his scapegrace brothers and everyone else who surrounded him”.

“That’s a sad story to hear. But why did he laid on the railroad?” “You haven’t read the chapter where I explained it all in my book right?” “Unfortunately, no”, she admitted and made up a sad, pitiful smile that help the ones of her kind to get away from all the guilt. Tonny Hillman knew that he can do nothing but smile and kept going

“Life was never easy for Austin. His marriage was a disaster since he had problems was socialising much so he made a wrong pick; was used a lot and cheated on. He also had a daughter but she died of cancer recently and Austin, as a hero father, sold his house to help her to fight the disease. But that wasn’t enough… Homeless and unemployed, Austin got into depression and got robbed twice recently. He was ended up in gutter and got used to spend his nights on the streets or woods. And here we go, this great man was laying on the railroad and asking to God one simple question: “if you are here, why don’t you help me?” He simply wanted to end it all”.

“I believe that misery in this story has no bottom. But I’m eager to know what happened next”. “As for not reading my book, you missed a lot, believe me”. “So you ended up lending a hand to this poor man?” “You don’t have to believe me but I ended up hiring him as my editor”. “Wow, that’s an unexpected turn. Really?”

“Ohh yes. Currently he is helping me out with two more upcoming work-in-progress novels which I cannot reveal just yet, but, believe me, he’s a crazy talented editor. Lord made him good at handling a pen. And I also helped him to recover and supported him as much as I could. We are pretty much like brothers now”. The woman in a front of Tonny was silent and stunned. Just like the large audience behind her. After some time, someone started to clap desperately so the others did followed him. After they finished, Tonny thanked them and added: “If sometimes someone would say that there is no family without a black sheep, don’t believe it. You’re never a black sheep!”

Hey here, my dear blog readers, fans and followers! It’s been a while since my last blog post and reason of that is very simple. I just focused on another things in life and ModDB isn’t everything.

What is more, I believe it would be interesting for you to know more about me. In real life I’m second year student of English philology and translation. In my free time I enjoy gaming, modding, doing arts, writing novel, crafts, workout, driving. I’m also known to have decent knowledge related to space since I’m space nut since my very early years. If I’d need to describe my personality in one sentence, I’m mix of Goth and Punk person who hides under casual look. If I need to, I can be very communicative or very cold. It depends on my mood, inspiration and people around me. Others describe me as spiritually strong and ‘crazy in a good way’. I suppose last statement is a good one and I personally approve it.

What is more, I can become very sad person if my projects are ‘doing’ unwell. Right now I'm very dedicated towards my BF2142 Remaster Project and I'm having a lot of fun with my fellow modders/colleagues! My daily routine is abstractly divided in parts that are for my studies, projects, work, free time, consuming food and sleep. Later on I become good at planning my day time because webs & gaming too much easily killed off my productivity. And finding more time for work and hobbies appeared to be much more rewarding then farming stuff in games. People, it’s a silly shit, don’t do that! One shall never let it to become a habit, because habit can become an addiction.

What goals I’ve set up for near future:

God can make fun of that, but planning is a part of human’s nature. So here goes my list’o:

1. Finish the studies and try find a decent part time job;
2. Finish BF2142 Remaster;
3. Finish writing the dystopian book (it's 70% done already);
4. Find a cheap flight to Dubai, climb Burj Khalifa skyscraper at the night, take some panoramic pictures and come back home next day;
5. Try not to die too early because this list can be extended a lot.

Favourite book character: Lisbeth Salander from The girl with the dragon tattoo (written by S. Larson). She’s so badass that she’d kick my ass before I’d say hi to her but I still like her. She's very intelligent, mysterious individual who exhibits certain traits in her personality that can be very alluring and attractive to some.

Favourite antagonist from a movie: Immortan Joe (with ‘n’ but not ‘l’.) I like him for his craziness! He's the leader of a ruthless raider group and never stop no matter what happens even if he's old and his health is failing.

Favourite bands and music ‘makers’: Gojira, Cabaret Nocturne, Perturbator, Clepsydra, LORN, Rammstein, The Sisters of Mercy, Device, Danger, Justice, Kavinsky, Nirvana. I listen to large variety of different genres, but I like the ones above A LOT. I also highly appreciate Linking Park, 3 Teeth, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Celldweller, Infected Mushroom, Acid Arab, Lana Del Rey, NolongerHuman, VMV Nation, Pink Floyd, SUSPIRIA , The White Stripes, Arctic Monkeys. I'd love to add many more to this list, but the longer it becomes, the less likely it is somebody will read a wall of text. Also you can click on album picture to open youtube link!

Favourite video games/franchises: Battlefield, The Witcher, Gwent, Mirror’s Edge, Overwatch (I’m here for Widowmaker’s booty ofc), This War of Mine. Another titles which I also like: Watch dogs, Titanfall, Tomb Raider, L4D2, Alien:Isolation, Crysis, Starcraft.

The most anticipated game: Cyberpunk 2077. I have high hopes in CDPR developers because they managed to creater The Witcher: Wild Hunt which is state of art video game by day now. In CP2077, I can't wait to visit The Night City, investigate complex crimes and try out my skills at surviving in brutal world of Cyberpunk. In addition, I'm crazy about sci-fi stuff in general!

The most anticipated mod: Gunslinger mod for Stalker. I love Strifer's attention to little details and animations. This mod has phenomenal quality and in terms of animations, they could be easily compared to any triple A title! I've been tracking this mod since 2013 as the very first youtube footage of it come out. After 4 years it's still in active development and I can't wait to get my hands on it. But that's not just me. Mod has thousands and thousands of followers and fans from all over the world!

First video game: Battlefield 1942. Time can fly so quickly o.o

Favourite movies and TV shows: Mad Max: Fury Road, Stranger things, Avatar, Ex-Machina, Elysium, Game of Thrones.

Favourite books/series: The song of ice and fire by R.R. Martin, Millennium by S. Larson, Three friends by E.M. Remarque.

What I would like to try out in life: more traveling, horse riding, playing games on PS4 and with controller, jumping with parachute, paragliding, skiing, and sub-orbital space tourism.

Favourite food: Brussels sprouts (haha, unexpected?)

Favourite colour: Black.

Favourite clothing: Black punk boots, black long leather trench coat with studs or spikes, fingerless leather black gloves, inverted cross or bullets necklace, some silver and black rings. And I don't care what you say about this.

Weapon to choose in zombie apocalypse (that’s a hella essential question): spear. Because those bastards needs to be eliminated from distance without taking much risk. Plus you can bake some nice meat on spear if you got a bonfire!

If I could have a superpower, it would be ability to travel through space and time. Do you have anything better to suggest?

Looking for help who knows DAZ3D and 3DS max to export weapon models. Since I'm working on BF2142 remaster mod project, I got my hands on few hi-poly models which I want to be implented into game. Those who help, can expect reward :)

Hiho guys, I'm writing this blog because I got some new stuff to share. I contunue working on my novel and I work hard on its english translation because of looking for more wide public. In Lithuania I have very few readers so other language is an alternative. Moreover, I find translating new and interesting experience like you wanna to improvise with stuff, tell story in other, different words. It's fun and awards you with experience. (You can find more information about my book in earlier blog if you want so).

"WIP- titled" novel "Every Empire Falls" progress: 80K words, 160 pages in Lithuanian version. 95 different characters, 7 perspectives and eight different fractions. I feel I'm nearby to 50-60% done and it's amazing then you reach the half-milestone of your long-term roject. (So far book 1,5year of writing).

The other things....

I'm spending more time for myself and wanna improve my character, improve my general attitude to life. Judging by subcultures I'm the most familiar with Goth and Punk, but I've decided to be myself and do not fallow any trend. That gives "ultimate strenght" of being unique :)

What is more, this year I've started some leathercraft projects. Because... I couldn't find wanted stuff on any online shops. So making something of my own is a big motivation, especialy then you managed to complete it.

What's like my average day? Writing, readings, walks in fresh air, some workout and, improving spiritual life. I've decided to change my lifestyle and become more active and be not afraid of new things. Now I'm enjoying the benefits :) I enjoy the process then you viewpoint to life is changing and you become more diverse person, you start to better understand others and embrace ones around you. School time, busy lifestyle and lack of time for myself hurt my soul enough so I'm recovering. Slowly, but tight. I see world and life pretty no matter how dystopian it can be, because it's given only once to be spent. And everything depends only on you. Things what we can regret of should not become ghosts of the past and things we are afraid - neither stop us.

"Every Empire Falls" is in the works for more then one year. The immersive story of Reiker Tatjana Emit and life through dystopian world... The evoliution of strong and complex character and wild fighter spirit.

Imagine world set in 2060s. After new huge conflict between west and east which happened one decade ago world had been strongly reformed. The real level of Lack of natural resources was always been hidden from most of humanity with hope to prevent any kinds of agression acts between countries and continents. But it won't lasted long... After economy disasters in middle east and europe new wars become unavoidable and it wasn't a solution to the problems at all. As example result Balkan peninsula was occupied by "Western Empire Military Corporation" (WEMC) in order to prevent any possible conflicts happening in future. With lack of resources and half dead economy countless of countries were suffering from inner conflicts so some decided to build massive walls and start building new economy, infrastructure from almost the scratch. WEMC corporation gets a lot of funding from dying countries for protection so corporation authority becomes major power in world in short period of time. For example in Serbia lands was build heavily protected colony "Vessay" which holds half million of residents and war refugees.

Common Cities/colonies are being protected by high walls and become some kind of fortress if the new war would begun. But the real danger lives inside the cities, not in the outside. (not anymore). WEMC becomes corrupted and start using peoples on their own needs. Internet/wouldwide connection is being cut off by WEMC government and colonies become isolated fortress with separate inner "worlds".

As the old man Frick told Reiker (the main female protagonist) that the world has changed, but enemies remained the same, she didin't even imagined how crazy life will mess up her life and involves her in deadly mix of challenges.
