Need some more infos you talking about patching BF1942 to the latest version (1.61b) or installing a mod like Battlegroup42 for BF1942 (1.61b).
If you didn't install BF1942 (f.e. just swap it from D: to C: ) there will be no or wrong pathes in your registry so the patch/mod installer can't find the needed infos where he had to install the files.
Don't install BF1942 + mods inside C:\Program Files or Program Files(x86)!
The people who have the skills to do this don't find the time yet

Maybe you have to grant admin rights to the Blackscreen.exe (inside BF1942 root directory) too.
I really don't know why the modeller build the CSA instead of any other revolver but we have to deal with it as far as some of our members found some time to build another revolver.
Agree it would fit best in some of the classes with a rapid fire gun (MG or MP as main gun) will forward your suggestion !

You are right it wasn't a standard weapon !
But many of this weapons have been in private property by army members and were taken with them into war (production ceased 1941). Because of that they were often used as a personal sidearm also it was a sign of tradition espacially officers used them instead of the standard M1911 ("symbols of power") plus the increase in prestige if you had one. btw. in the "Band of Brothers" TV-series you see one of the NCO's receive a revolver as a gift from the Police of his local town.
So finally it ended in the mod maybe a little inaccuracy in reference to standard US equipment but not 100% wrong (plus sometimes a welcome change) hope you can accept that under protest ;) otherwise you have to head over to the official forum and talk with our "research crew".

The Boys Rifle was used by the US Marine Corps in the pacific.
Production of the Colt Single Action in all calibers ceased in 1941.
In 1955 the .45 Colt was back again in the old Single Action Army.
So how could it be out of service for 70 years in ww2 ?

BF1942 didn't support "modern" technologies f.e. specular maps.
There is also no scope left in polycount of the vehicles.
The game would lag like hell if we raise the polycount even a little bit.
But you are correct some older vehicles are not very "pretty" but cause of we lack manpower you have to deal with it. ;)

In the past there were some US Server which runs BG42 too.
I don't know if (and when) they still play BG42 :/ so have a look at their websites.
Respawning should be possible but I don't know if the netcode likes it. ;)

We have no manpower for the polish army so it makes no sense to build polish maps, sry. Maybe you will see a new nation in the forthcoming v1.7 but it will be a "further to the east" located army ;-)
Yes, it's much more time consuming to mod for BF2 or later parts of Battlefield. Sadly it seems that it's not possible to mod the new BF:BC so the team will continue to work with BF1942. As modteam it makes no sense anymore to switch to BF2 it's an "old game" (2005) and it's also (slowly) "dying" (player count). So I guess some of us will switch to a newer game engine/selfmade engine in the future or stop modding completly and the other members will stay at BF1942 and try to release at least BG42 v2.0

We had some practise maps released for an early version ( v1.3 ? ) of BG42 but the maps aren't compatible with the latest versions so we released a new mappack with the help from the Wargamer Project ;-)
Unfortunately we don't have the manpower for Poland.
France is already integrated but we sadly lack french content like tanks (f.e. Somua). ATM the team works on Italian Army stuff !
Don't know if we will convert most of the RtR-Maps to BG42 but a couple of forum members asked for Monte Cassino if I remember correctly. :)
The kit selection differs from the one in FH indeed but this is intended.

Get it now there are several maps with COOP support in the current release. The next full version (v1.7) will be released in 2010.

You have to reinstall BF1942 because the entries in the Vista registry point at c:\program files if you simply move it that can cause internal problems. Is possible to change this registry entries per hand but without some advanced computer skills I won't do that cause you can kill your windows installation ;)

Unfortunately we don't have the resources to integrate another army yet.
We still lack some stuff for the Italian, Dutch and French Army.
Our goal at the moment is to complete these armies and sceanrios maybe in forthcoming releases you will see f.e. the Chinese, Finnish or Romanian Army ;)
Vista is not BF1942 friendly ;)
I don't use Vista but maybe this could help you.
- Don't install BF1942 + mods inside C:\Program Files !
- Start the game as Admin and set compatibily mode to XP or ME.
- Shut down UAC in Vista.
- You are using no single core CPU -> "Link" one core to the game.
If it doesn't help please register in our forum at www.battlegroup42.de there are some other users with running BG42 on Vista.
