No, the game is very very much based on cooperative play. Sort of like how L4D is very very ground in with coop play. Not to say they are essential, but I assume it will work similar to L4D as far as teammates go.

Well, this is not a demo or a guarantee, it is only a showreel of what is being considered, but, well, I hope to see it implemented.

This game deserves a lot of props. AAA indie, yet still so high quality. Be sure to check out the slices/demos (the vault, bullseye, and running man) on the home site for a little taste of the game to come!
