Very dumb Arctic fox. Giving out free and open-source hugs. Also a GoldSRC modder, and a gamedev. (idTech 3, 4, Unity, Unigine)

Nice, glad too see that you're still loyal to the classics. xD

Will it run the original Tombraider? I want to buy it, lol.
Windows 98 machines are rare and expensive these days, I wish I still had mine.

It was released the same year as Quake, so it should.
It's more of a Windows XP machine than 98, but I'm sure it would run 98 just as well. :)

Description

Everyone, say hi to the newest, but oldest, member of my computer family: the New Rustbucket. It's the HP Compaq dc7600 from 2005.

Haha, yes, it's going to be a struggle until I get a new GPU for it, but I'm happy to say that I'm a proud owner of a Pentium 4 machine. :D

So, my aunt heard that I'm having some problems with money, yet I want a new PC, so she decided to give me her computer for free. It certainly didn't help, but I'm very glad to see my old PC's monitor re-purposed, as well as the keyboard which I cleaned this evening.

It runs games like Doom 1, Quake II etc. just fine in software mode. The graphics card (Ati Radeon X-series, X1050 to X300, not sure yet) is pretty much dying, so I just uninstalled its drivers and fixed the visual artifacts issue (the artifacts led to system freezes). I think I'll buy a GT 710 for it soon. I mean, a powerful GPU is definitely not a requirement, more like an excess for this 13-year-old time capsule.

As for the money problems, don't ask. I have 80% of the budget, and that's because my parents borrowed a chunk of it. I can understand why. Let's just hope they will return the cash soon enough, since I've been collecting this money for 5 years. :P
