I once saw the flamingo variant of the ModDB default profile picture and thought it was the Tentacle from Half-Life at first. I then set out to make a Tentacle version of the default profile picture.

Yes, the raindrops are particles, courtesy of Mapbase.

Despite my previous comment, I still had a lot of fun with this. It was probably in part due to me always using godmode (in a ludicrous mod like this, you might as well just cheat the stuffing out of it), but I had a great time going around and zapping my enemies with the gauss gun.

As a workaround for the bindings defaulting themselves on launch, I went and edited the config file manually.

Xash3D doesn't eliminate the crashes but does make them much less common. Now the crashes are only triggered by large explosions, and my gameplay leads me to believe these can still be averted just by looking away.

I apologize for my harshness before, I was just frustrated by the crashes on vanilla GoldSrc.

I once attempted something similar, making all of Half-Life 2 take place at night and it would be raining. Obviously, it never went anywhere, and I only got to the first map. That said, I tried the demo and I was impressed. Can't wait to see what the full release has in store. Good work, guys.

The only suggestion I have for any update is to leave the bindings as they were in vanilla HL1, having Q bound to the kick and not switching to the last weapon really messes with my muscle memory. The settings always reset themselves on launch, and it gets quite annoying when coupled with frequent crashes.

Edit: Play this on Xash3D if you can. This plays way better on it than on vanilla GoldSrc.

Back from my first playthrough, and I am thoroughly pleased.

Interesting idea to combine (no pun intended) beta aesthetics with retail maps.

I like the idea of burst firing the OICW to keep it under control.

The bridge level is just as good here if not better than it is in retail.

While playing, I had two funny moments. The first was shooting a poison zombie with the I-Rifle and double-barreling its last poison headcrab that was on fire. The second came on the bridge level. I fully expected the first headcrab, and when it leapt toward me, I shotgunned it and watched it plummet into the water below.

Your hard work has paid off. Good job.
