Also the starcraft marines are weak as heck

Fluff wise SM from SC are tough as ****, with their weapons capable to cut people in half in a single 3 rounds burst, hit zergs up to 1000m and shot down low flying aircraft, their armor being able to resist a hits from Gauss rifles and zerg claws(Noted I took this data from the StarCraft books).
While in the gameplay there is the same thing we see in WH tabletop, where the game rules and balance don't represent the power of said units on the fluff. For example two guardsmen have a 66% chance to kill a SM if both fire their lasguns at the same turn on a SM, while in fluff it would take at least 10 guardsmen firing at the SM to have a chance to kill it.
Plus there is another reason why this comparison is stupid, WH40K SM are special forces/shock troopers and barely have counters on SC universe(The closest being the Ghosts) and the SC SM are high tech cannon fodder with power armor and are more akin to the IG of WH40K.
well i'd say this is more of the lore/fluff "VS", and tis all in good fun!
btw... wouldn't a ghost from SC be more along the lines of a vincidar?
Yes, but WH40k SMs stupid enough to not wear helmets would lose their good looks to snipers, hence the counter :P

comes in freaking like once a week.
He saw me reading a 40k book, so we started talking about 40k, and how he use to play SM n all that.
Well he looked really familiar, cause every once and a while theres a Blizzard article in the newspaper, so i asked him if he works a blizzard, and HES FREAKING THAT GUY IN THE LINK!
but... anyway... ya he BASICALLY told me how SC is based off of the 40k universe. (but not like... flat out)

hahahaha ya... well i meant he didn't flat out say "SC is based on 40k", but ya i'd agree with you. it is a straight imitation (smaller, way smaller) copy of 40k.
and we all know which one is better....and in this case... who would win

Well they might get past a PDF. And they'll be mightily pleased i'd say. Then word arrives their fleet was obliterated by lance fire at 100 000km plus. Then they'll hear that Imperial guard are landing by the million. Then the far off, yet all too close, blast of a titan warhorn will be heard. Drop pods smash into their central command, and 10 minutes later their co-ordination is shattered. A desperate last stand will ensue, but it will be no use. The orbital strikes will bring their pathetic fortifications to ruin. The tanks roll over the rubble and the dead, and so the final slaughter begins. That would be the fate of such a war.

Space marines are genetically superior to Terrans, have better armor, more powerful weapons that are pretty much good against anything, melee capabilities... just drop in 15 of them in a Starcraft match. They will win.
A marine in terminator armour got stood on by a reaver titan once. HE got up out of his mantank impression, crawled out of the foot print and shot the hydraulics cables at close range and knocked it over when its foot stopped moving.
They can survive nuclear blasts, and indeed where built to fix the inside of plasma reactors at greater temperatures than the core of the sun. A first company of any chapter could end the terrans.
Does anyone else think that starcraft is just a near-copied version of Warhammer?
well the space marine has the advantage one and one, but star craft can pump out WAY more then a chapters worth of marines.
I say, anything less then a three to one advantage space marine, anything better star carft.
