Description
The Emissary class of Tau starship is not a true fighting vessel, but instead a transport for Water Caste dignitaries. Despite its size, it is well-armed, and capable of defending itself against all but the largest enemy capital ships. The Emissary is becoming a common sight throughout the Tau Empire, and it is rapidly being adopted as something of a workhorse within Tau space.

Given how dangerous space is in the WH40K universe, this cannot end well.

The key word is "Defending", Imperial, Chaos and Eldar ships are built with offensive mindset, the problem is that while it can fend off most attackers it will keep lacking a offensive set and limiting it to either patrol or logistics role.
Plus with the Necrons confirmed having Tombworlds in Tau space, the Imperials getting annoyed with the recent Imeperial worlds annexation by the Tau and the great cherry on the top of it all is a Hivefleet on its way to the Tau cluster.
I really like the Tau because they are the only ones who advance their tech without needing 10K years to do so, but they better become a lot more aggressive in their next codex(if GW ever release it) if they still wish to remain of WH40K.(Remember the what happened to the Squats ?)
Edit: the Tau gave a massive *** wipe for the Imperials, but we know the Imps have the habit of burying their foes with corpses, plus the approaching hivefleets did help the Tau to get the imperials of them(for a while) but with either Behemoth or Kraken hivefleats approaching the Tau will face some major problems.
