I thought the Egg-shaped ship was a Black Fortress...it also reminds me of the orb from Guardians of the Galaxy without the infinity stone.

let us not forget that the Iron Blood was one of the largest Gloriana-class vessels, alongside the Sons of Horus, World Eaters and Space Wolves flagships. i'd assume this means the rest of the Gloriana-class ships were smaller

I wonder if the Phalanx would even fit into the picture?

Probably not. I think the Phalanx size is comparable to a craftworld, it's supposed to be bigger than any imperial ship.

Let's not forget the Furious-Abyss class vessels which dwarfed even the 20km gloriana ships. Also i think Macragge's Honour was the biggest Gloriana ship of them all. Measuring an astonishing 25-26km in length.

I'm sorry but i'm going to have to be a complete *** about this and ask for reliable sources.

first of all, the Iron Blood is among the four largest Gloriana ships, and the Ultramarines flagship is never named among them.

remembering the above, the Iron Blood, if we go by the illustration showed in one of the official Horus Heresy rulebooks and use the pictured Cobra destroyer for scale, is almost exactly 18,75 kilometres long from the tip of the prow to the end of the stern. therefore the Macragge's Honour cannot be anywhere near the 20+ kilometer range, nor can any of the other smaller Gloriana vessels.

the only ship, that i'd trust to be larger lengthwise than the armored behemoth of the Iron Warriors, would be the Vengeful Spirit.

But from the sources i have read most Gloriana battleships seems to be around 20km long, although there has never been a real official size for them.

Sources: Wh40k.lexicanum.com. Betrayer (40k Novel) Chapter 21.
The Horus Heresy Book One -Betrayal pg. 96.

Sources for the Furious Abyss Class Vessel.
Betrayer (Novel).
Wh40k.lexicanum.com.

I didn't really include the Battle for the Abyss since i haven't read it and as i have heard much of the fanbase seems to hate the novel.

aaah yes, i think we've been ensnared by the good old "Authorities Not Talking To Eachother" trick again

i feel like ADB rescaled the ships for dramatic effect in his book, while Forge World tries to maintain at least some illusion of sensibility.

i for one would be more ready to roll with the more, uh, conservative <20km scaling: remember the Executor from Star Wars? that behemoth was 19 kilometres, and it was thin. while the Imperium is mighty beyond reason, having a 25+ kilometers long craft with the proportional thickness of a typical Warhammer battleship would be just... unwieldy. a Legion fleet needs to fill its other ships with something too you know.

the Furious Abyss and its sister ships were unprecedentedly humongous of course, i have nothing to say against that

Description

Had a pic of this, and after Nodboy mentioned the Gloriana so I dug this out.

In short, the Gloriana is damn big.
