Tallarn Desert Raiders, Inquisitors, and Catachan, just to name a few.
Imperium has a ton of regiments/chapters with traits from real world counterparts.
Sometimes, hell, alot of times, artistic endeavors fail to cover all aspects of a subject, and as such it's easy to conceive prejudice at certain points. It's quite fair to say that artists are human too.
Also, WH40k is all about the archetypes, and since 90% of the archetypes comre from medieval Europe.... not a lot of black people kicking butt in the stories back then. It's not so much a prejudice as simply a lack of precedent.
That said, WH40K is pretty inclusive as far as I've seen.... in the compuer games and some artwork, as well as works by John Blanche (especially some of his models) you get all kinds of minorities and they're part of the fabric of the universe, not a token minority character. Plus, anyone can be eaten by 'Nids or sucked into the Warp... no discrimination there XD
in stories you've read. the moors invading Spain being one group. the fights over the holy land wasn't just white Europeans fighting over it. just saying.
but yeah its good see people drawing stuff difrant than the norm
not sure what to be more surprised about.
a human working with a Kroot mercenary or that the human is a black woman(no, not being sexist. how many black women have you seen 40K related??)
probably the latter.
In fact, how many dark skin coloured people have you ever seen in 40k? Aside from Salamanders.
