What really really really really I can't give more emphasis on this without reaching the maximum string size hate the fact the only writer to actually gave the Necrons some personality beyond merciless, emotionless, undead ubber terminators on steroids was Matt ward and this we shall fight together to beat a common enemy, which was somewhat acceptable, but the oh we both can't fight battle companions after we defeated our common enemy even if one is a born to kill killing machine and the other is a soulless killing machine whose main goal is the eradication of life.

Matt ward had the reigns for the new 'Cron 'dex, and though I hate that he retconned most of player's theories on the history of the galaxy, but I'm glad he gave them room to be themselves. Literally.
