Flame Falcons. Declaired Renegades due to unstable gene-seed, which caused them to set alight even though the flames didn't harm them , only their enemies.
From what I read in the past the Flame Falcons were rummered to have become the Legion of the Dammed. I'm still not sure about this so I have to double check it.
Flame Falcons and the Fire Hawks/Legion of the Damned are two totaly different chapters.
Flame Falcons and the Fire Hawks are both from the 13th founding, but the Fire Hawks had the most bad luck on their side, whereas the Flame Falcons' gene-seed was mutated which cause them to set alight. The Flames didn't hurt them, only their enemies. An Imperial Commander heard of this and sent for the Inquisition, who purged them as best as they could but on company was away at the time of purguation and have since defected to Chaos.
The Fire Hawks were declaired lost in the Warp after their whole chapter fleet and their star fort set course for a system only a few days away. They never arrived. A number of years past then they were declaired lost in the Warp. They were thought to become the Legion of the Damned as whenever these marines appear on the battlefield they leave behind a banner of the Fire Hawks. As well as a number of Navy ships picking up life pods, which cointain the corpses of marines whos DNA matches the records of the Fire Hawks.
