New Tabletop Faction Thread - Warhammer 40K Fan Group

I have come with a brilliant Idea for a new faction, a faction that has
not be mentioned often in Warhammer 40K. The Disciples of the machine
god, the Adeptus Mechanicus

Hey Guys, i was just playing DOW earlier and i kept
thinking, wouldn't it be cool to have a new tabletop faction, i decided that the faction
that would have to be put in would be the Adeptus Mechanicus,if not in the
table top, then what about as a mod for DOW? i could
think of a unit list for them

HQ - Fabricator general
The ruling priest hood of the Mechanicus, they are Magus logis,Magus Genator and Magus Artisan

Elites - Secutor - Individual techpriests that turn themselves into machines of
war
Collegia Titanica: The
Titan Legions and the Knights

Troops - Combat Servitors ranged/melee
skitarii - Like an improved version of IG
legio cybernetica - the robotics Techpriests

Fast Attack - Non? what could go here?

Heavy support - Levithan Ordiinati Warmachines

Things from the ordo reductor - Siege weapon specialists

There could be Techpriests, who kind of lead a squad and provide bonuses to
that squad - Electro Priest
iron Priest
transmechanics
lexmechanic

Information on the Leaders listed in the HQ (extracted from Lexicanum) -

Magos

Magi are the highest ranking Tech-priests. They have mastered a
certain aspect of science, of which there are dozens. The rank of Magos
accordingly consists of Magos Technicus, Magos Metallurgicus, Magos
Alchemys, Magos Physic, Magos Biologis, Magos Genetor, Magos
Cybernetica, Magos Exploratoretc.

Logis

The Logis is a logistician, analyst, and statistician. His
purpose is to predict future trends and make forecasts about expenditure
and needs. They are regarded as prophetic figures.

Genetor
A Genetor is a high-ranking Tech-priest specializing in the
genetic sciences. They are very common among the Adeptus Mechanicus, and
often accompany Imperial forces on exploration missions to new worlds.

Artisan
Artisans (also known as Constructors) design machines,
buildings, spacecraft, weapons, and other military hardware. They also
control the vast labor forces of Servitors.

The Fabricator-General of Mars is the leader of the Adeptus
Mechanicus, and as the Magos Mechanicus is also the head of its Cult
Mechanicus.
He also invariably holds a position on the High Lords of TerraMaybe

They could have like an ability which temporarily diables vehicles.

I hope you will read this and make add ideas on balance, the Mechanicus
are not often mentioned and it seems a shame to not let them have an
army of their own

neat idea and very well though of and planned. but c'mon i mean MOAR races ? 40k have enough of 'em

Well, they kind of wasted their races, instead of just space marines, they have to have the blood angels and the space wolves seperate? why not just have 1 space marine faction

well how about offering this idea to the modders of the apocolypse mod they can either make it or find others that can.

also i see that u live in the UK if i'am correct the base of GW is in the UK right?.that means lots and lots of hobby shops around so go find yourself a big to meduim class hobby shop and offer to make it a hobby center project to convert an IG army into adaptus mechanicas army including a small proportion of vehicles to show off.

I might offer it to the apocalypse modders, i'll see what they have to say

so any progress with the apocolypse modders?

I read somewhere they don't take requests, i think it was in the comment section where people where asking for a unique race of IG
