The music I think was Mirando from Ratatat.

I think Wargame lost on the map size increase and in the huge unit numbers.

In the EE I felt how it was to command a battlegroup, how it hurts to see the morale drop and carefully select the move waypoint.

I guess in RD the game turned into a huge clusterfuck battleground with 40 tanks per 1 KM?

you can see a whole lot of movement in this video here. units traveling on open road and the likes. RD is all about hiding in bushes because planes and arty rape the crap out of you. Every push is denied by bombers or napalm mlrs would completely shut down such a bridge. Also before you attack you saturate the entire area with clusterbombs so the enemy is paralyzed. In no way as thrilling as 2 Kpz 70 crossing a bridge facing a T-80U that is not panicked and hurt from clusters.

The map and the basics remain the same though. However the massive increase in income has led to more units on the field yes. I have barely any arty in this match and could never afford big ones especially not with only 2 zones. In RD with 2 zones after 10 minutes I field 2 heavy pieces of arty and have just as many if not more ground forces. The initial deployment however is smaller due to less points at the start. So I could never afford 4 choppers and still have a reasonable force that goes to 2 different locations. That imo also hurt the series as its more luck based. You either choose the right few units to counter the enemy or you're screwed. If you survive the first phase however you get way more money than you'd ever get in EE.

So EE is overall better than RD?

Wrong time to ask me this really. Had a few amazing matches today but in all of them the enemy used the new BM27 grad with napalm rockets... whole zones going up in flames... still fun xD

This is pretty much what Wargame is/was to me. It shows it so nicely. The new planes and arty really didn't help this sort of gameplay much. Just imagine it xD
