I'm treating it pretty much like the KOTOR system. We grow more and more powerful with each skill point, it's from the amount of experience we gain for participating in an event.

It's pretty simple, it just requires a lot of work. The more powerful you grow, the closer you are to reaching the next rank in command. In which case, you will "Knighted" with a new rank after reaching a certain amount of points. At least, that's what I'm getting from the system.

If I'm wrong, then well, I'm wrong. xD

Also, interesting characters? Join the Federation! It's going to be the most interesting of all. xD

Jedi serve multi-role purposes in fx war, so does Sith, and Mandoes.

You system would only make sense for an ordinary character that is neither force user or Mandalorian.

There is really nothing complicated about the system. Here, take a look at the Jedi version and Mando version (Works best if you have Word installed)

Also working on a Civilian/Military one and "Grey Jedi" one. The Mandalorian one I made is apparently almost completely redundant I have been told so I have removed a lot of things, so consider it very incomplete. Not even sure the Mandalorians are gonna accept it, but if they have a better idea for balancing themselves then they are welcome to present it.

huh I was VERY skeptical of the non-force user skill tree...but it's not bad actually.

My only problem would be the jetpack one. I understand having to cert into flying but weather the jetpack has a weapon attached to it comes down to player's equipment

I would say edit it so it says that you learn how to open fire while flying (pistols etc). Thus it makes more sense then effect your equipment which comes down to the players.

Edit: And lastly just so we don't start completely ****, how about when you make a char you get X amount skill points? :3

OMG. If I can get you on board then there is hope yet.

However, currently the Mandalorian skill tree only has about half as many "skills" as fx the Jedi one. I would really love some good suggestions. I know Mandoes are trained from they are very little, but it shouldn't mean they are good at everything in my opinion. So if you have any combat suggestions, please let me know.

And yeah, everyone is gonna start out with a few points. Haven't decided how many though. Also good point in regard to the Jetpack.

Go **** yourself ;)

And why not apply a hacking skill tree for the mandos (and non mandos). As in hacking into the holonet, robbing back accounts, hacking doors, terminals etc

Also a leadership tree. This leadership tree could make it so you inspire troops/citizens etc. Similar to the jedi one.

And last but not least, weight of the armor you can wear just like the jedi.

And the CP system have been scrapped until we can work out its problems. Should we ever succeed in that, we will see if people want it/if it is still necessary.

How many skill points do we start off with and how do we gain them?

Reply Good karma+1 vote

- Maybe 10?

- My thoughts were that all those who participate decides in co-ordination with a GM. A player can be given as little as no points and then perhaps up to 3?

Wouldn't it be extremely fast to level up if we start with 10 and earn 3 after each event? o.0

I mean, 10 is already 50% of the skills you may receive so...
Why not make it start with 5?

Five would be best.

10 you can already start a master Force User xD.

I'd say start with 5, then get either one or two after each event. One skill point decided by the community and one by the GMs. Sounds fair?

A simple yes or no would suffice, just list each person in the event to write the name of the others with a "yes" or "no" next to it. If a player has 75% yeses then he gets the point.

Also a maximum of 3, maybe 4 players to get a point like that (events with only two players can only be given a skill point by the GMs). This is to prevent abuse xD.

Just to be clear: The system works in a way where fx. Lightsaber Technique IV costs 4 points right? Because that is how I designed my skill tree's. Lol

That isn't mentioned anywhere... Do you mean the actual skill costs 4 (in other words you've got III and need 4 to get to IV) or do you mean it takes 4 in all to get from 0 to IV?

lvl 1 costs 1 cert.
lvl 2 costs 2 certs.
lvl 3 corts 3 certs.
etc

Would be slower, but I'm fine with that.

In that case I agree, ten skill points to start with.

We can do it the other way also, I just thought the were more to how you get points than mere participation. You get points if people actually think you deserve it. In case you have done some really good stuff you might get maximum amount of points and such.

Description

So we have all given you guys our feed back on things and i realize that the system is still in development. However, i have doubts i guess.

Like i said before, the only thing i have a problem with is the fact that our characters are going to be soo like odd because we will need to spend points in leadership and our defensive and offensive abilities. and we simply dont have enough members to have full fledged leaders and full fledged warriors.

So this is why i think that we should simply omit that bit and make a different system based on command. I mean there could be 3 levels, simple. Civilian leadership, Command on the ground, and Space Command. And the sublevels could be like what ever you guys can think of.

I mean i know that this complicates things even more, i just really think that the combination of both will result in well interesting characters.

Also, on a side note, what the bloody hell is this CP system?... lol
