Falkyria's Coruscanti apartment was of course nothing compared the estate back home but asking a superior officer to travel that far would've been more trouble that it was worth it. Maintaining a home-away-from-home on Coruscant was much more efficient and practical.

The apartment was fairly simple, nothing extravagant but neither was it spartan. Four rooms in all; living, bed, rest and kitchen. Military and cultural decorations were scattered thoughtfully here and there on walls or furniture. Two burgundy sofas placed in the middle of the living room, separated by a low champagne table. Unconventionally, a viewscreen was missing. A collection of holobooks was stacked in a row inside a steel grey drawer.

*Kain was busy going over reports from around the Empire when the secretary knocked and reminded him of the appointment with Lieutenant zi Starkroße. The same lieutenant he had met at the party where he narrowly avoided death. He still had no regrets, but a small part of him wished that he had kept his words in check a bit better.

Kain shook those thoughts away and figured if they wanted him dead he would already be dead. His mind began to process the prospect of meeting with the Lieutenant, he knew that she had great potential but he did not believe he would be able to win her over so quickly. Maybe she was just luring him into a trap, who knows. He was willing to take the risk, not considering her rank compared to his. It made no difference what rank she was, he knew she would go far.

Kain had agreed to meet with her and now was the time. He set aside his records and made his way down to the military space port that was reserved for official military business only and chartered a ride to Coruscant. It did not take long for the shuttle to depart and soon he was landing at the capitol and made his way to the apartment of the lieutenant.

Kain found it odd that she wanted to meet him there instead of something for formal, but he suspected this did not exactly pertain to military matters. He came up to her door and game a swift knock, checking to make sure his appearance was in order. Satisfied, he turned his head back to the door to await her response.*

The little lieutenant opened the door and greeted the officer, beckoning him to come inside and make himself comfortable. She offered to pour major Talus a beverage of his choice, her assortment was limited though.

*When she opened the door Kain offered her a small smile, and noticed that she did away with the military formalities and he decided it was probably for the best. He followed her into her apartment and graciously accepted her offer of a drink.

"Water will suit me fine, thank you." Kain replied making himself comfortable on a small sofa that sat back against the wall of the living area.

Trying to get an idea who exactly this woman was, girl he corrected himself, drove him to better study the apartment and found he actually liked it. It was sparse but contained the necessities to survive.

"Quite a lovely place, although I am sure it pales in comparison to your manor back home." He mentioned, his smile unwavering.*

Falkyria poured two glasses of water, freshly processed from the Coruscanti polar caps and delivered via tap. The lieutenant sat dawn opposite the major on the other sofa.

"Thank you, major." She cupped her glass with two hands, curious. "It suffices, I'm not home that often."

Match set. It was up to the little lieutenant to make the opening move however, she did invite the major here after all. Perhaps with these disadvantages the outcome won't be one-sided. She took a small sip from her glass.

"Shall we get to straight to business then? I imagine you're extremely busy and curious to hear what I have to say."

*Sipping his water Kain looked at the little lieutenant who sat across from him. So young, yet obviously sought greatness.

"Yes, of course. I have other matters to attend to today, not that I'm not enjoying your water and company." He replied with a sly smile.*

Witticism, clever but not quite professional. At least the major wasn't as bad as that damnable Sith Lord with his constant jokes and otherwise erratic behaviour.

To determine the validity of the major as an potential ally, certain facts need to be made apparent. "Last time we met, you openly provoked a Sith Lord. Why?"

*Kain's gaze went distant, being reminded of his hatred for the Sith. Should he tell her why? Even if she was allies with the Sith, he did not think she would betray him like that.

"They killed my father. I have nothing but contempt and hatred for those murderous bastards." He replied bluntly.

Looking her straight in the eyes, he showed a side that he never showed. It made him feel weak, but if they were to become possible allies he felt he should hide no secrets from her.

"I was merely in a bad spot that night and my judgment escaped me. I went too far with my words, but how I felt was accurate." Kain added, drinking the last of his water and setting the glass down.*

Falkyria cast her eyes down. Kain had personal experience with the Sith and on his mind was but one thing; revenge. Pity.

"My condolences."

This alliance would not work. Personal, petty revenge may be a powerful driving force but one that is difficult to control, not worth it in the end. Once the goal is met there is no further reason to continue.

She fixed her gaze upon the empty glass.

"And my apologies but without the full picture I have to side with the Sith on this matter; as sketchy as they are, they were put in command of eliminating treasonous elements within the Empire."

"Is this all you feel then? Anger towards an organization with more power than you?"

The insubordinate lieutenant flashed a smile and asked if the major would like more water.

*Kain cleared his face of all emotion once again and put back on his famous smile, albeit it was a tad harder to fake given the current line of questioning.

"Well, Lieutenant, my anger comes not just from personal experiences but from looking back on the past. Not counting our current and previous Emperors, the Empire was always led by a Sith. They manipulated and terrorized the galaxy through the use of you and I. The Imperial military has been blindly led into full scale galactic war time and time again for the personal gains of what?" Kain explained, taking a pause for dramatic effect.

"A Sith bent on full galactic domination. And look where that got us, got the galaxy. The Sith are a plague, infecting everything in order to achieve dominance." Kain to continued.

"Why should we let them continue to terrorize and lead our military and our people after all they've done? I wish for the Empire to do away with the chains of the Sith once and for all, take back our glory. Whether it be done under our current Emperor or some other, so long as they accomplish their task without the infection of the Sith, they will have my support." Kain finished, setting back further into the couch.*

A smile found its way on Falkyria's face. It would seem she was finally making the progress she had hoped with the major.

"You've put it so eloquently, 'do away with the chains of the Sith', quite the statement." There was an amber twinkle in her eyes. "Then what do you suggest should be done with the Sith?"

"Moreover," she cleared her throat "you seem to hold Emperor Magister in low regard. Suggesting he could be replaced by another..." Falkyria bared her teeth in an innocent smile "is downright treasonous."

*Kain looked around the room once more, a little tense at her last comment but decided she meant nothing by it.

"I suggest they be killed, rooted out, destroyed, removed from history." He replied, sitting up a bit straighter on the couch, a fierceness in his voice.

"As for the Emperor... Some were born to rule, others.. Not so much." Kain stated simply, looking back over at the young lieutenant.*

Falkyria's eyes burned gold where mere moments ago they were an icy blue. She rose from her seat and walked over to her holobook stand, opening one to reveal an odd device that was marked with symbols belonging to the Imperial Security Bureau.

"It's a recording device," she said matter-a-factly "a certain Sith Lord lent it to me."

The young lieutenant sat back down and placed the device on the table, along with another item. These looked like legal documents.

"Sign them."

Major Talus went over the files; it was obvious what they were right as he read the name 'Kuat'. These were legal documents that would have him surrender his holdings to the lieutenant along with his very status as a Kuati noble. From what he could tell, they were watertight with no loopholes.

*After reading the documents he stood up and went to the window that overlooked the capitol city itself. It was bristling with the daily traffic and fanfare. He was shocked of course, more so that he let a mere Lieutenant outsmart in such a manner. He shouldve suspected something was off given the line of questioning.

"Well played, Lieutenant. I must say I did not see this coming." Kain stated, not turning back to look at her.

He suspected the room was under survellience and any move against the Lieutenant would cost him his life, at least this way he kept that in check. But still, the thought of loosing his father's holdings was too much for him. He would not let that happen.

Finally he turned back to the Lieutenant, his face blank except for an easily forced smile. "And just what plans do you have for the holdings? My father's holdings might I add." Kain finished, him smile wavering slightly.*

Match over; to the victor go the spoils. Falkyria reclined back, hanging her right arm over the recliner as she observed the major. Parents, it seemed the major was extremely sentimental. Weak and pathetic as it were this only added to the joy she felt at defeating the major, of course she hid her true feelings to the best of her abilities. Falkyria stifled a contented sigh for round two.

Match set.

"Let's be realistic here, major. I have no experience or desire to actually manage your holdings. I simple wished to take you upon your offer of assistance, but also to cut out the middleman as it were. No, managing the holdings... I leave that to you."

Lieutenant zi Starkroße quenched her throat with water, teasing major Talus by the pause.

"It's clear to me that these holdings mean a lot to you, which is why I would like to extend an offer of employment to you. You manage the holdings on my behalf and I, well, I get to return home."

"I think this is a fair bargain, major."

"So, do you accept?"

*Kain turned back to looking over the city scape, more so to think clearly without having to look at the Lieutenant. His father would be disappointed in him severely, but he had to make the best of the situation.

"Destroy the device and allow me to retain my title as noble, even if it is just symbolic, and you have an accord." Kain said, once more looking over at the Lieutenant.*

Falkyria smirked innocently.

Though she was tempted to grant the major some small consolation; after all a desperate and cornered individual was the least predictable and the most violent in situations like these.

"I've done my research, major. Your noble status is the reason you are allowed to own your holdings in the first place."

After a while the major leaves or is made to leave by force, agreeing to Falkyria's bargain begrudgingly.

Through tough negotiation and the patience of a saint; the secretary of Kain Talus was finally made to relent and schedule an appointment with his employer. Although unconventional, the location wasn't on Kuat at either the headquarters of the Drive Yards or the headquarters of Naval Intelligence but Coruscant and in the humble abode of lieutenant zi Starkroße no less.

Hopefully, the awkward major can find some spare time in his busy Sith-provoking schedule to visit.

Starkroße did mention she could possibly assist in dealing with death threats, rogue Sith Lords and death threats received from aforementioned rogue Sith Lords.
