That's a scary thought...
I honestly don't understand why everyone hates Jar Jar. For me he was always hilarious with his funny talking and his clumsiness.
It must be one of those things where one person didn't like him, so he posted it on facebook or some other brainwashing site and suddenly other people started to agree just because...enough ranting carry on :P
I love Jar Jar, and frankly, I believe he is an under-used character. I am eagarly awaiting a special edition blu-ray re-release of the double trilogy with 3 hours of Jar Jar Cameo scenes spread throughout the origional trilogy. :D And a thousand fans cried out in terror but where suddenly silenced when they find out I am joking. :P
but in all seriousness, Jar Jar as a character is a little immature, and I think every person who grew up on the origional trilogy expected Star Wars to mature along with them, when it pretty much stayed the same. Jar Jar represents everything that the origional trilogy fans think is wrong with modern star wars: CGI, immaturity on the part of Jar Jar, and a lack of seriousness under dire circumstances, also on the part of Jar Jar, although I think this is one of Jar Jars most endearing qualities.
I personally really like all of star wars, and comparing the origional trilogy to the new one is like comparing apples to oranges, there is too much of a generational gap. On a side note, some people think Jar Jar is an embarrasing racial statement that makes fun of African Americans. I don't see how, but I guess there is much room for speculation when you are over-analyzing a character.
I really liked Jar Jar, and I was sad to see his appearances in the movies crawl down to a single line in Star Wars Episode III; "Excuse me." :(
I'm pretty neutral on Jar Jar. I used to love him when I was younger. I still don't dislike him, and I think he gets a lot of undeserved hate.
Now the all-powerful and invincible ewoks on the other hand...Those are annoying(Not the ewoks themselves mind you, it's just that they defeated the empire way too easily...) :P
That's the whole point. Original Trilogy was somewhat dark, with all those deaths and destructions and even tho the new trilogy is not so dark, Lucas made the immature and clumsy Jar Jar so he can bring the dose of humor to the both old fans and the younger audience.
Yes, i will always think that First Trilogy was the "best", and that the second is "good" and just because i don't like a certain character, be it from Star Wars or any other media, it does not give me the right to spread the "hate" over the internet with immature idiots who will just follow the internet trend.
