In the comics Vader Down, Darth Vader alone is shown to single handily destroy two full squadrons of X wings, wipe out one Alliance Battalion with armor support and later deal heavy damage to a Alliance regiment.
Isn’t that a bit too much? As powerful as Vader is, he should still have limitations.
For those who haven't yet read them, here: Readcomiconline.to
Yeah, read this a while back.
While the force does grant some pretty out there abilities even this would be pushing it. He's quite clearly surrounded by hundreds on all sides along with armored support. And yet he tosses them aside like bantha fodder.
You ask me, whoever wrote this had their head out there in full on fanboy mode. We get it, you admire Lord Vader. But there are more intelligent ways to show his power than tossing aside a battalion like a toddler with green army men.
To be fair, the actual power level of the force has been depicted somewhat inconsistently.
There also has been a comic where Vader and Boba Fett faced off and Boba was able to hold his ground and even had the chance to kill Vader while he was distracted, but chose not to because it would make the whole Empire hunt him.
Also, I had a look at that comic and was not impressed. Not a fan of the art or the writing. I hope this is not representative of all the new SW comics to come.
So far, I liked the Dark Horse comics far better than the new Marvel ones.
Implying that EU is any better with their weird AF stuff
I bet Kylo Ren made that comic.
You have to admit though it is kind of badass but ya there have to be limits on his power.
Love that line too " All I am surrounded by is fear and....dead men."
I too think Mace Windu was way too OP in the Battle of Dantooine
I'd root for Grievous being OP on Coruscant and the battle prior in that show where he faced off against the remaining Jedi.
2003 balanced it out at least by both sides having their Trump characters.
