Sad that the Ysalamir aren't cannon anymore :( since apparently lightsaber helicopters make complete sense but Ysalamir somehow don't...

I sincerely hope they'll design something that may negate the Force.
An animal like Ysalamir would suffice, and seeing it in Thrawn's hands would be exhilarating.
Oh and I'm waiting for Cortosis armour and melee weapons. Some counter-measures to the Force and laser-based weapons in order to make storm-troopers more menacing and effective. Uncle Pulp wanted to synthesise Zillo Beast's scales for Christ's sake... what happened? But no, we have this instead - Youtube.com ^_^

The Shadowtrooper project obviously failed because...KYLE KATARN!
These Shadowtroopers were clad in cortosis armor and could resist several lightsaber hits that could otherwise kill others. The force crystal located in their chest was imbued with power from the Valley Of The Jedi,and ensured that they could use force powers.
Makes you think what would've happened if these troops were produced in larger numbers,eh? The Republic could've been endangered.
Anyway,yeah... They absolutely have to introduce an Ysalamiri as Thrawn's pet. I doubt the addition of cortosis or something. It's not even canon now...
I remember in one of the Star Wars Celebration videos (may have been the rebels panel) Dave states that Ysalamiri won't be cannon saying that they don't make sense within the lore or some rubbish explanation like that.
The Force flows through all living things so it wouldn't make sense. It was George himself who didn't like the idea just as how we don't see force ghost pop out everywhere in the new canon.
