The question being, do you believe the situation has gone beyond anyone's control in the Middle East?
Between rebels taking control of governments, civil war, ethnic and religious persecution, and terrorism on the march. Has the situation gone beyond help and/or reason?
You decide.
And also, do you believe the situation is at all resolvable?
As for me, I take the Biblical stance. As to what that is, feel free to ask if you wish.
Before we even begin, would you kindly define the "Biblical stance"?
Simple.
The Middle East crisis is a major part of Bible prophecy. However it's something that can't really be fit into description on one meager comment or even page for that matter. Because it is part of something much bigger going on. Which would require you delving into the Bible and studying it for months (perhaps even years) on end to get a proper grasp on.
However, Christians should know what I'm talking about. Although they rarely go into the subject these days. And as a result have gotten rusty.
But seriously, I'd like to hear your guys points and opinions on the crisis.
Just keep it respectful, that is all.
It does seem unresolvable with every group claiming a right to the land there but even though it seems like an unending war, there have been wars in the past that were fought for longer and eventually had a victor. This will be no different.
Yes, but the issues involved makes this a very complicated crisis.
The "Palestinians" don't even believe Israel has a right to that land, even though Israel had that land there long before they ever moved in, Israel had it back 2000 years ago and even before that (and originally they killed the original inhabitants thanks to Joshua and the Lord's orders). It was even prophesied in the Bible Israel would live again after it's initial destruction 2000 years ago. So it coming back to life after World War II doesn't surprise me.
Now what's another thing that makes this so complicated? This is a battle of ideology and religion. Islam teaches once it's Muslim land, it's ALWAYS Muslim land. And these "Palestinians" are also devote Muslims. Therefore they will not rest until Israel either gives it all back or is all dead.
If we try and tell the Muslims to back off, were insulting them and their religion hence infuriating millions of people. If we tell the Jews to back off, were telling them to allow themselves to be run over by groups like Hamas which have attacked them with rocket strikes consistently and Iran which has threatened to wipe them off the map publicly with nukes. And even ISIS being the radicals they are slaughtering civilians in broad daylight. They claim Israel has done the same (regarding collateral damage) in battles such as Gaza and Lebanon. Yet groups like Hamas use human shields on their rocket sites, making collateral damage inevitable.
This is not a simple war by no means. And the victor, well, depends on which God you believe in sir. Do you believe in Jehovah or Allah? Or do you simply want to watch this unfold on the news? I can tell you one thing, unless a dominant power steps in and tells both sides to back the heck off this will not end anytime soon. But unfortunately, the world today believes "appeasement" is the answer to all things.
The IDF controls the arms industry and the arms industry is the State, and the IDF itself. Israel is probably the ONLY country in the history of the modern World is were the war serves, and improves the conditions of the State and the government. It is a really eye-opener, especially if you are a newcomer to Israel especially on military duties.
The situation is under the control of the strong governments in the region. If it was not so, we'll already could have an epic incident like a bomb exploding somewhere in a soft location. Don't believe in the beliefs tha the Palestinians are wholly anti-Israel.
Due to the nature of what surrounds them, everyone in Israel has to serve at least 2 years in the military. Their all soldiers over there. So they understand the threat of what surrounds their country.
If the governments in the region decided to stop feeding the fighting, than Israel could have a chance to make her intentions true. And considering how much Israel has pursued peace publicly and privately by trying to negotiate I have little doubt they would accept peace if it were offered by all.
However, these terrorist organizations have gotten out of control in the region. So even if the governments stop, they won't. And getting them all to cooperate in combined arms to stop the terrorists doesn't sound easy at all.
Any country that tells you they will wipe you off the map clearly doesn't have any interests in peace. And some of these governments are in league with groups like Hamas and the Taliban. Making it a political as well as military nightmare if your looking to stop the terrorists and pursue peace.
So if Israel is preparing for war, they have every right to. If I were surrounded by countries that were threatening to nuke me, and terrorists groups that kept attacking and bombing my people. I would defend myself and go as far as to strike back when possible. Even if the world hated me for it.
The situation there has gotten out of hand but it's not unsolvable. When you look deep enough, there are options out there. None of them are pretty but in times like these you have to be pragmatic about the options that are on the table; and be very selective of who to support. Sure, it looks like it will never end but situations like this never last forever. Sooner or later things will calm down and what comes from it we'll just have to deal with in.
For everyone's sake I hope your right.
