Are we going to see some fireworks or not?
I think even Kim knows what it would mean. He just needs something to get UN supplies.
Kim isnt that dumb (or crazy, i hope)
with any luck its all just show, i guess we will see on the 10th- if there will be war or if he is just blowning hot air.
If it does happen it wil most likely be rather one sided jus as the Iraq wars were. North Korea has huge numbers but really old equiptment.
Compared to the south and her allies.
The thing i worry about is if china gets involved that would be bad
China won't get involved, they don't want to jeopardize their standing with the US.
China has showed no signs of wanting to be involved in any conflict (If one does emerge). Besides do you really think a nation which exports the majority of its goods and who houses all the major production centers for a large amount of american businesses, would be moronic enough to attack US forces, I highly doubt it. Unless they prefer their economy to drop like Kim Jong Un on a diving board.
First of, China won't suffer as heavily as the US will if the two stop trading. China is the dealer and America is the junkie. The dealer might not be able to pay for a new TV but the junkie will crawl up in a corner and cry. That is until other countries take over as factory land and the imports start again.
Secondly, of course China would get involved if N.Korea starts fighting. Just not on their side. There would be a Chinese flag in Pyongyang before the US is even aware the war has started. An exaggeration, but the only reason China allows North Korea to exist is because they don't want an american ally right at their borders. At present, there is no way they can get rid of N.K without all of Korea becoming one massive S.K. Being first to liberate Pyongyang would give them that chance.

You know China has invested a significant amount of resources in the US economy, and vice versa. Neither country stands to gain anything by being at ends with each other. The political and economic repercussions alone, from both China and the US entering a conflict on opposite sides is enough to deter both nations from war.
If an american sponsored embargo on all Chinese goods were to occur the results would be disastrous for both parties.
Kim's not an idiot. He knows that if he ever tries to attack the US (or any UN country for that matter) he'll likely get N. Korea turned into a parking lot.

I hope there isn't a war. There's too many deaths already but on the other-hand, North Korea is a communist state that persecutes its people and imposes restrictions and what they can and can't do. So if there was a war and North Korea ends up becoming mincemeat, then perhaps they could at least be free from the oppression of communism afterwards.
This picture is how I see the situation as. You have a little kid shouting and screaming at an adult until his face is all red and he cant scream no more.
The original leader is worshiped as a god and his sons are pretty much Jesuses. If anything its an egocentic system like Stalinism.
If the place is turned into a parking lot the only loss will be the death of North Korea references. And well... nothing will be gained considering North Korea would be a pile of ashes and radioactive corpses.

Despite the government. There are many innocents in North Korea but casualties in war is inevitable. It's for the innocents I hope there isn't a war but at the same time, these innocents suffer over there anyway and that will continue unless the North Korean government is finally stopped.

While I highly doubt the North Korean government would be stupid enough to go to war, if they did, it could easily become the bloodiest war this world has ever known.
