A group for those interested in science from the vast expanse of the universe or technology.
Here is a direct example of evolution and transitional forms.
In case you don't know synapsids are tetrapods with one temporal fenestrae (opening behind the eye) and diapsids are tetrapods with 2 temporal fenestrae behind their eyes.
This is one of the easiest ways to see what group these animals are in (or in this case who their desendants are)
Mammals are synapsids, modern reptiles and birds are diapsids. though early synapsids were actually reptiles (or atleast puesdo-reptiles)
This is one of the morphological features that shows the transistion from reptiles to mammals.

By the way, Cervi, I don't know if it's just me but the second link doesn't work :/
Oh and not sure if this is synapsid or diapsid:

Your second synapsid is actually a diapsid (its a dinosaur they all were diapsids)
and your last one would be a diapsid
You do know that all modern lizards and birds are diapsids and mammals are synapsids right?
This is basic, basic, basic biology- the kind of stuff you should have got in middle school (or your equivlent)
This IS the most basic way of telling terestrail vertebrates apart
My foot in your face...
