1 out of 1 Catabolignes agrees with you...hot is fine, but in the context of the show, Rose was part of the Doctors life like your gf / bf is part of yours. She belonged there. Ponds were just the Doctors travel buddies.
But I have to tell you...former Doctors and former companions - have never come back for long stays. Just the way it is.
