mace windu...the worst jedi that ever live and yet he was brave enough to call himself a jedi.
he changed his mind to many times, "hay lets take Fett prisoner. "oh wait i just beheaded him...." he failed miserably when trying to save Obi-wan Padme, and Anakin. since walking up revealing yourself when you are not yet discovered is stupid, you attack while nobody knows and then you worry about prisoners, much more practical:D At least Mace should have gotten a group of jedi with him when he walked right up to Dooku in attack of the clones. there really isn't a single thing that i can say Mace did a good job on, really! if any of you can come up with something then i would gladly hear it:D
He led the republic to many victories, he led the jedi to save obi wan and killed Jango Fett(he never said he would take him as a prisoner), he defeated the emperor, he was the 2nd most powerful master in the order and the most badass. he couldn't kill dooku that time because he was defenseless, therefore he, as a jedi, couldn't kill him. He didn't failed to save obi wan, actually he was successful, the clones arrival was planed, so he was buying time, thing that he did bravely.
Excellent points guys, Lucas managed to write pretty bad characters, however mace windu did think about taking fett prisoner, pretty sure it was him that asked obiwan to bring jango back to the Jedi temple for questioning. (It could have been yoda) also sticking a lightsaber in someone's face isn't intelligent. Overall mace windu indirectly caused the deaths of many Jedi since he could have prevented it by 1. Having more Jedi with him when he approached jango, count Dooku, etc. since then he could have at least arrested those villains, ending the war before it would even begin and at the same time saving lots of bloodshed. 2. Or 2 kill everyone that stood near Dooku. Yes that would be Sith like, but it would be for the greater good. Why can't Jedi kill several to spare hundreds? Next mace knowing that anakin was the chosen one suddenly tell him to stay out of the fight against lord sidious? Lucas screwed up Star Wars, large parts of it stop making sense when critically analyzed:(
Like the part where Dooku collapses the pillar and yoda stops the pillar when he could have just force pushed the pillar so that it would fall behind obiwan and anakin. I could spend all night pointing out things that don't make sense, fall apart when analysed, are simply glitched, or suck badly:( now that being said I truly love Star Wars. Even with all the stuff that could have been better I still think that it's one of the best franchise ever.
Star Wars is not about logic, is about epicness. If you ask how a dozen of rebel fighters destroyed a star base of the size of a freaking moon with billions of personnel and millions of fighters(that never joined the fight for some reason). How the all mighty emperor and the chosen one couldn't sense the rebels, how the engineer of the empire built a exhaustor that is a straight line to the main reactor and then built a corridor that a entire ship could pass that also leads to the main reactor(with no defense whatsoever). The answer is: No, it makes no sense. But is freaking awesome nonetheless.
and you forgot to mention the Mace Windu was immune to the dark side meaning he could not be turned evil.

but you are confusing character ****-ups with George Lucas' inability to write something coherent since return of the jedi, and even that one was silly at times.

I'm most pleased that they took the star wars franchise away from Lucas.

His the one talking, the one that thought it was a good idea to attack a dark lord of the sith without the chosen one, and lastly all the other Jedi died within a few seconds of the fight.
Well lets just say he asked anakin to join his team to stop the emperor, anakin would just go "You are asking me to betray my mentor, my friend. This goes against the jedi code bla bla bla" and betray him anyway
