Also worth noting anime isn't merely cute girls with fantasy-colored hair. There's also things like Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Hellsing Ultimate, Attack on Titan, Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon, Jormungand, Psycho-Pass, Samurai Champloo, Death Note, and I could go on.
