I do that in just about every game since I can always sell other people's junk to buy something of value so that I can save the world, survive, finish a quest, do something for the guy I just robbed, etc. you get the point it's just that saving the world is costly and I consider other's stuff to be a way of funding me in advance. Almost like a tax to help save the world.
