This is actually true. One of my murican friends only learned about it because he read the textbook. (He was born in Canada though so he is technically Canadian thus resulting in a higher than the average American IQ which is why he read the textbook)
If I read my textbook for fun, does that make me a badass, a nerd, or a Canadian (despite being Australian)?
I don't read maths though. I'm good at it, but I hate it.
There are countless examples. For example France never mentions Napoleon was born in Corsica before it was conquered by France (he wasn't French), or Britain never admits they've been beaten by Spain many more times than otherwise.
Now, now, no need to bring up bad blood. Its been 200 years since that war.
Loses a fight to Canadians and nobody bats an eye.
Loses a fight to Vietnamese and everyone loses their minds.
Double standards everywhere!
Commies
