I feel like that our current life is just an illusion. We are actually somewhere in space, drifting in our spaceships and the life we are experiencing now is just a program we run, while we hibernate for thousands of years. When we die in this life, we actually just got out of hibernation in "real" life. Similar to what Ancients in Star Gate Atlantis used on their ships(can't remember the exact episode)...
This kind of makes sense, this is just a 'pastime' to maintain our brain in a healthy state, and the reason we don't know about it is because we would become anxious to leave, which we can't, yet.
