Well if you want to kill someone in an unsuspecting way give them a gold ring made of lead from the inside of a nuclear reactor.

but isn't lead absorbs radiation?
...not really. Lead is a very dense metal and radiation rays can't penetrate trough it's molecular structure beyond ~2,5 cm.... if I recall my chemistry classes correctly =)
