Tennessee (my home state) is landlocked (not counting the Mississippi river that runs down to the Gulf of Mexico) and is hundreds of miles from both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts and thousands of miles from the Pacific coast.
Unless the company supplying them has access to some teleportation technology then there's no way those oysters could have gotten there without being frozen first. So they can't be "fresh".
