You don't understand.
See, humans have white eyes, right? So in the dark they will stick out immensely and make you visible to the enemy. Therefore, dark goggles are used to conceal the bright eyes in dark environments.
It's super tactial.
I can confirm. Many years ago, back in school, my schoolmates turned the lights of the restroom off with our friend inside (and he was black, which only added to the camo), he just laughed sarcastically to them. They said they could only see his eyes and teeth.
