as with anything in life the situation isnt clear cut, there was some great benefits for all the empires that were.. but also plenty of terrible things as well.
i find it funny how so many people refer to countries like its a single person and set of characteristics.. rather than a long line of people represented by few, and selective of what they choose to remember of those actions made
