I can already see the future. We start some kind of Spider farms all over the world, they work for us, provide us with almost an unlimited amount of silk, but then one day, they say "enough" and conquer us. :(
Or we put obedience chips into their nervous systems. Its slavery, I know, but isnt it basically just the next step in what we do to all other domestic animals?
You earn money, you spend that money on their food, toys, health and training, you spend time making them fed up, clean, happy and healthy. Meanwhile, they sleep, eat, ****, ****, eat again (and repeat) and you call THEM slaves?
I was talking about animals we use as resources like cows and sheep, not pets, I should have clarified.
My pets were always my servants though because I made them know who is the boss and what is not to touched. I didnt use violence and still managed to tame cats wich are very rebellious and forgetful.
Or we can create a symbiotic relationship with them, where they provide us with silk and we provide them with food, shelter, a partner for mating and maybe even more stuff.

Both sides will benefit from it.
